ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hugh Colmer, artist and philosopher, believes the Tarot belongs to the same
iconographic tradition as Egyptian hieroglyphics and is a Perfect Language of
Images. Punctuated with 78 stunning images replete with ancient symbolism
“Dragon Lore Decoded” delves into the mystery of a greater unseen “Power,” that not only exists, but controls the everything of who and what we are.
Hugh possesses an array of talents that have led him from agent/producer of
art and photography to the investigation of comparative myth and religion.
Inspired by his initial searches, he co-wrote a novel with Anthony Masters in
1995 called “Hidden Gods: The Doorway,” wherein a news photographer is on
an urgent quest to find the secrets of Atlantis encoded into the Great Pyramid.
During Hugh’s examination of myth and religion, he realized that the Cross
and the Circle were the most profound symbols of all time and so inspired him
to register The Crosscircle Group to publish books and writings on spiritual
‘Truth.’ His core inspiration and commitment is to share the wisdom of the
ancients, like that found in the ‘Book of Thoth’ and its subsequent incarnations
as the Tarot. Like those who were part of the Knights Templar, he is dedicated
to uncovering and sharing the Truth of the Ages, which is the raison d’etre for
the art and text he created for “Dragon Lore Decoded.”
Hugh and his wife Carol run a spiritual retreat center in Windham, NY.
The Hermetic Tarot
The serpent is the symbol of wisdom and the wise Nagas of Hindu literature are none other than
Rishis, Yogis, Adepts Magi, and the Hermetic Magicians. The fact that we question the Hermetic
Teachings as a method or a doctrine highlights the limitation of “three dimensional minds,” The Italian physicist Giuliana Conforto’s LUH, Man's Cosmic Game: highlights our rigid thinking and sees us
in tune with cosmic oneness through the fluidity of the Hermetic traditions. Her book is another sign
that human history has reached a prelude in the Cosmic Game by integrating metaphysical, scientific,
and artistic concepts. In order to understand the ‘Game of the Matrix’ we need to experience other
“invisible realities” as well. Our “reality” reflects our level of consciousness.
Thoth-Hermes has long been associated with the Tarot, which is said by many to be the embodiment
of Hermetic teachings. The arcana continually call us back to the spirit of the hieroglyphs that make
up the Tarot, which also reside in the heart. It is only in this sacred place that we can receive and contain the inner spiritual truth that can transform us. Aldous Huxley christened the Tarot as "Perennial
Philosophy," a timeless science of the soul or a time capsule that surfaces in times of need. Its premise
is that there exists an archetypal mind that determines physical reality, and individuals can access that
realm through direct knowledge of the god within. The Hermetic tradition is one of the oldest spiritual traditions in the world, and while no direct evidence links the ‘Book of Thoth’ to Eastern religions,
it shares concepts and terminology with Taoism, Adwaita Vedanta, and Buddhism.
In the West, the Emerald Tablets found a home not only in the pagan tradition but also in all three of
the orthodox Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), and many of the most heretical beliefs of the Gnostics suppressed at the Council of Nicea are also expressed in it. Like Thoth, the
Gnostics believed that direct knowledge of reality could be attained through psychological discipline
and Self enquiry. They also shared a common view of the universe in which "All Is One," a pattern of
creation and decay symbolized by the Ouroboros (the serpent eating its own tail).
The axiom, As Above, So Below, is well represented in both the myths of the constellations above and
the myths of events on earth and in the underworld within, which if decoded correctly, reveal the history
of the world. “Serpent energy” and the Serpent in its many shapes are omnipresent. It is the Serpent that
represents Prometheus’s spark of mind, and the knowledge of who and what we are that leads to immortality. Kundalini is the dormant power present in everyone lying like a coiled serpent in the etheric
body at the base of the spine. This coiled serpent has been waiting for the moment when the soul begins
to integrate the physical, astral and mental bodies. This ‘spiritual’ force awakens the pineal gland, and
opens the third eye to the subtler planes of life. Meditation, study, self -discipline and selfless service
influence the soul; this will ensure a parallel awakening of the etheric force centers at the base of the
spine. When this process is practiced the awakening will not be dangerous.
Humanity evolved over time, as did the zodiac from eight to ten signs and then to 12 signs--the dinosaurs
and sea-monsters, became the crocodiles, the Makara (Capricorn) the Dragons of Wisdom. The key to
earlier civilizations is present within the animals of the zodiac wheel especially as the 13th sign Ophiuchus, the Serpent-Bearer near the constellation of Scorpio also formerly symbolized as the phoenix a
marriage of a serpent, and an eagle. The Garuda is the symbol of Scorpio.
Mušḫuššu the splendid dragon is associated with Marduk. It gave rise to the Lernaean Hydra of Greek
mythology and ultimately to the modern Hydra constellation. Hydra, the great sea serpent, is the largest
constellation in the heavens extending over four zodiacal constellations. It occupies the southern sky in
spring bordering Cancer, extending to Leo, Virgo to as far as Libra and Centaurus. Similarly Pisces is
connected with Cetus, or Leviathan the Whale holding Jonas captive, or Tiamat, the Sea-Monster, who
symbolized Draco the Dragon, who spawned the animals of the zodiac. Aquarius’s serpentine connections have been covered up in Greek Myth and is generally assumed to be a case for homosexuality
yet Hindu astrology gives the clue as Aquarius is called Khumba, the pot, which pours soma or amrita,
another name for the serpent energy from the Galactic Center or the sacred blood of the serpent goddess
to enlighten and heal the world.
Cosmologist Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet holds that the myth of Vishnu’s ‘Three Strides’ are to be understood in terms of the movement of the Precession of the Equinoxes and the Astrological Ages corresponding to the fixed signs of the Zodiac. But there is a major disagreement over which sign of the zodiac is first. PNB concludes that Scorpio in the form of the Garuda or Phoenix is known to be Vishnu’s
‘Vahana’ or Vehicle, symbolizes the fixed sign of Scorpio. The three strides of Vishnu begin in the Age
of Scorpio and moves in reverse zodialogical order through the other three fixed signs of the Zodiac:
Leo, Taurus and Aquarius. PNB teaches that each of Vishnu’s steps through the Ages of the fixed signs,
an Avatar comes to Earth to assist the evolution of consciousness which implies that an ancient zodiacal
knowledge is embedded in the Hindu myth of the Ten Avatars of Vishnu.
Thousands of years ago Vishnu came to earth in the form of a Tortoise to help the devas gain the wisdom of immortality through drinking amrita. The giant pterodactyl like Garuda siezed the pot of amrita
or sacred blood from the serpent Vasuki and flew away from the battle-scene and it is believed that four
drops of this nectar fell in the Ganges and became the basis for the belief that the Ganges has a mystical
power because of the amrita. Kumbh Mela is celebrated every twelve years there as it is believed that
after bathing there one can get moksha. A study of the Aquarius glyph makes it apparent that it represents
serpent energy and, in those days, it was the serpent spewing forth both fire and water.
Astrology today forgets that there were originally ten signs of the zodiac when Virgo and Scorpio
were one. The constellation Libra was originally part of the constellation Scorpius, and represented the
claws of the scorpion. It was the Romans who cut the claws off the scorpion and made them into a new
constellation named Libra, which represented the scales of justice. So the original ten signs became
twelve. Virgo and Scorpio, Lilith and the Serpent are one; inextricably entwined around the tree of
Life in the Garden of Eden. Scorpio is not the poisonous Scorpion, but the Serpent. In fact Scorpio's
ultimate symbol is the Phoenix, a marriage of serpent and eagle from Lemurian times. In early Lemuria
there was the zodiac of 8 signs. It was governed by Scorpio and Scorpio also marked the end of that
zodiac. Alice A. Bailey, Esoteric Astrology.
The Secret Doctrine’s belief that the Age of Virgo-Scorpio or the Phoenix ruled over the Motherland
of MU or Lemuria 18 million years ago would seem to support PNB’s theory. Ancient Egyptians originally regarded Hu, the Celestial Phoenix as the giver of Life but changed the New Beginning to Leo as
Scorpio or Hu’s influence waned. The Phoenix is a winged Serpent, or Dragon, a combination of the
two highest aspects of Scorpio. But by 14,000 BCE. the priests wanted a new god for the Age of Leo.
Their new beginning, Zep Tepi was an astronomical alignment of the Sun, Orion, and the constellation
of Leo. From Zep Tepi onward the precession of the equinoxes has Orion/Osiris ascending. Hu is the
ancient name for God, and and the sound Hhhhhhooooooo, was the breath of the cosmos. In Egyptian
myth the phoenix is revered as an embodiment of Hu who, like Osiris, is a symbol of death and resurrection.
The emblem of the tribe of Dan was the serpent, in fulfilment of Jacob’s prophecy in Genesis 49:17: “To
Dan was given the symbol of Scorpio, which, in the ancient Egyptian zodiac was a Pheonix. Richard
Allen Hinckley indicates that Ophiuchus should replace Scorpio as the sun actually passes through
the two portions [of Scorpio] that project upward into Ophiuchus, so far south of the ecliptic it could
The Sirrush has similarities to the Iguanodon,
Bel-Marduk is a mythological hybrid, a scaly dragon with hind legs like an eagle’s talons and feline
forelegs. The Sirrush has a scaly body, a prominent horn on its Iguandon head, a forked tongue, the
forelegs of a panther, and the hind legs of a giant bird of prey. The scaly skin shows itself on the hind
legs downward to the middle of the shins. On the end of the curving tail there is a scorpion’s sting.
And this creature appeares in the artwork of the the Ishtar gate in Babylon. Daniel, the protagonist of
the Book of Daniel, was confronted with this creature by the priests in the apocryphal text
Bel -Marduk the Sirrush is the Celtic God Belinus
In the Babylonian Creation Epic, the Enuma Elish, Tiamat bestows the seven Tablets of Destinies upon her consort Kingu to give him the power to defeat Bel-Marduk. After Marduk
conquered Kingu in battle he hung the Tablets of Destiny around his neck and was given 50
powers from various gods which gave him the ability to rule
The Celtic celebration called Beltane is dedicated to (Bel/ Baal/Marduk (Babylonian) and
Merodach Hebrew) as the slayer of the dragon Tiamat). Bel is lord of the world, father of
the gods, creator, and lord of the city of Nipur. Later Greeks associated Bel/Marduk with
Hercules under the name Melkarth. The name Baal is also connected "Baal-zebub", "lord of
the flies", and Satan. "Baal-zephon" later became the god Triton, son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, goddess of the sea. He is usually represented as a merman having the upper body of
a human and the tail of a fish, "sea-hued", according to Ovid.
It was also on the feast of Beltane that the sacred marriage rite was performed by King Arthur
with his half-sister, Morgaine, who, as the sacred 'sister-bride' embodied the Celtic Moon
Goddess, Cerridwin. The sacred marriage ritual, which was performed at the festival of Beltane, produced the Celtic Christ, Modred. This was not really incest, but a holy rite .
Mysteries are ancient ‘secrets’ regarding all human evolution. The first masters on Earth were all Dragons and Serpents. They bestowed wisdom and the means of experiencing Gnosis. Their knowledge is
the basis of metaphysics. This also means that there is nothing mysterious about the higher realm of
spirituality. Metaphysics provides the ultimate answers; there is nothing unscientific about spirituality
and its arts.
H.P.Blavatsky claimed that the universal “religion of the ancients” was the worship of the Dragon and
the Sun. She said, “The tradition of the Dragon and the Sun is echoed in every part of the world, both
in its civilized and semi-savage regions. It took rise in the whisperings about secret initiations among
the profane, and was established universally through the once universal heliolatrous religion. There
was a time when the four parts of the world were covered with the temples sacred to the Sun and the
Dragon; but the cult is now preserved mostly in China and the Buddhist countries. … We find (a) the
priests assuming the name of the gods they served; (b) the ‘Dragons’ held throughout all antiquity as
the symbols of Immortality and Wisdom, of secret Knowledge and of Eternity; and (c) the hierophants
of Egypt, of Babylon, and India, styling themselves generally the ‘sons of the Dragon’ and ‘Serpents’.”
The drama of human civilization is set against the cosmological backdrop of the Precession of the
Equinoxes. Dragons are the archetypes of our priests and royalty. The past is a story of dragon worship.
Myths obscure astronomical facts. Animals in myth are stars, and gods are planets. Our evolution is
mirrored in the myths of the constellations. Ancient civilizations tracked time and created calendars,
and most importantly predicted the cataclysms during the GREAT CYCLE of PRECESSION of the Zodiac, symbolized by the Ouroboros; the serpentine ring of the Ecliptic, cycle of Eternal Return. The Pole
Star is the most important point in the Universe as it was the entrance to the Other Worlds.
Megalithic temples were tuned to this 26.000 year Cycle in the heavens. They expressed the laws of the
universe in the language of time. Time is framed in universal cosmological myth. The Center of the Universe is not fixed. It moves around in a circle counter the Circle of the Zodiac. Plato called Precession
the Great Year, and each of its “months” is a sign of the Zodiac. Myth was the astronomical scientific
language of the dragons. Decoding the heavens meant making zodiacs mimicking heaven on earth in
the form of sacred sites, and embodying it in dragon royalty. Ancient ley lines are symbolically related
to the circumpolar constellation Draco, the great Dragon. The winged serpent was a symbol of the Gods
of Egypt, Phoenicia, China, Persia, and Hindustan. The Dracontia, the original masons, built temples
that were sacred to the Dragon because it was the symbol of the sun, which, in its turn was the symbol
of the highest god, El. Besides the surname of serpents they were called the builders, the architects; for
the immense grandeur of their temples and monuments were such, that even the pulverized remains of
them stagger the mathematical calculations of our modern engineers.
The Dracontia built temples dedicated to the Dragon, emblem of the sun, of life, wisdom, and Precession cycles. Once they covered the globe; all that remains are those monoliths seen at Stonehenge, Carnac, and other places. The Serpent Mounds, such as those in Ohio, symbolize the same thing. Besides
being mute historic witnesses of knowledge of the mysteries of the cosmic dragon, these temples were
used as means of divination by the priests who understood their secrets.
Draco is a vast constellation extending through seven signs of the zodiac; also as the seven-headed
Draco, each of whose heads is a star of Uras Minor; and again as the pole star. Dragons are synonymous
with immortality as they are immune to the cycle of time, and because their lineage is preserved in royal
bloodlines. Thuban became the “Eye of the Dragon” as it is the major star in Alpha Draconis. The stars
were the Watchers - the seers. Egyptian sovereigns wore the Uraeus serpent (Wadjet) as their crown; the
symbol of the serpent of life, a connection to the celestial Ouroboros.
The celestial pole for that time is located in one of the paws of the wolf, Anubis (Ursa Minor). The ecliptic pole is located in the breast of the female hippopotamus, Tarut (Draco). The word Tarot is primordial. In all of the ancient Egyptian zodiacs Tarut is found at the center of a horizontal parade of figures.
Tarut was depicted with her consort Sobek, a crocodile, on her back. The crocodile on the back of Tarut
represents the Milky Way and the mouth of the crocodile represents the Dark Rift.
Because Thuban was the pole star 5000 years ago the ancient Egyptians keenly observed it. Some of
Draco’s stars were part of their constellation of Hippopotamus and some were of the Crocodile. They
appear on the planisphere of Denderah and the walls of the Ramesseum at Thebes. The hieroglyph for
the Hippopotamus was used for the heavens in general while In the Book of Enoch, Tarut morphs into
the Behemoth which ranges from a dinosaur to crocodile to a mythological creature.
Thuban is a third magnitude star, north of the constellation of the Great Bear, the pole star around 2170
BC. It shone down the descending passage of the Great Pyramid at its lower meridian transit, but Egyptologists generally believe that the Pyramid is much older than that. In the previous 26,000 year period
Alpha Draconis would be in about the same position. After it ceased to be the pole star, it shared the
fate of all the fallen gods and goddesses and was treated as an evil demon.
Later, a devotee of Tarut was libeled a “tart” just as a worshipper of the Lunar Goddess became a “lunatic,” “monster” or “sinner.” (Sin was one of the earliest names of the moon goddess). The Bible calls
Aphrodite the Whore of Babylon or harlot. The word Tarut was later pronounced with a soft “H” as
Taruth, which morphed into the word truth. Tarot Thoth and truth are interchangeable: if one is seeking Truth; seek it in the Tarot.
Psychologically, the Dragon is the merger of normal human reality with the Transpersonal Self and a
desire for transformation. Some say it is a symbol of DNA or the kundalini energy. The winged dragon
represents the primal source of being - Zero Point vortex energy. When you realize a transcendental
state you experience the divine paradox of doing everything while not doing anything. As Einstein
said,” Men invented time to feel comfortable in space. But it doesn’t actually exist. All experience is
happening at once.”
The dragon is a healing power.. It is said elixir of youth was made from the dragon’s venom. Immortality is achieved when the mind sees that the ego is an illusion.... In legend, the alchemical Philosopher’s
Stone is in the guardianship of the reawakened Dragon. Alchemy combines the physical, psychological
and spiritual. The winged dragon embodies the archetype and the chaos of psychic images.
Remember that the Dragon is the vehicle that takes you to your True Self. It is a sign of the Goddess
Tiamat, the true doer of all your actions. Tiamat created the creatures of the zodiac and possessed the
Tablets of Destinies. Joseph Farrell speculates they link to the I Ching: ... “The Tablets of Destinies appear to have been ‘activated’ only in physical proximity to their possessors— in other words, they may
have been activated by the certain specific sequences in the DNA of their possessors, and given the fact
that the I Ching is a system of divination with so many odd parallels to the genetic code itself, the connection seems both logical and inevitable: With the I Ching, we may be looking at, so to speak, the “software” remains of the Tablets of Destinies.” Farrell, Joseph P. (2011-05-03). Genes, Giants, Monsters, and
Men: The Surviving Elites of the Cosmic War and Their Hidden Agenda . Feral House. Kindle Edition.
Paul La Violette concurs as his aether theory correlates with the Chinese Yin and Yang energies encoded
in the I Ching, the Book of Changes. The female Yin energy transforms into the male Yang energy and
vice versa in an eternal process of physical changes. The creation of matter from the aether is reflected
in most ancient creation myths. From the Hindu creation myth of Vishnu, the Egyptian myth of Atum,
the myth of Isis and Osiris, the Greek myth of Zeus and the Babylonian creation myth Enuma Elish.
La Violette is even convinced that his physics is embedded metaphorically in the Tarot and the signs
of the Zodiac. In ‘Genesis of the Cosmos’, Paul La Violette finally writes: ‘If anything, the discovery of
advanced science in ancient myths and lore should give us reason to pause and take a broader view of
modern achievements, to realize that we may not be the first scientifically advanced culture to inhabit
Another recurring theme in many ancient creation myths is the primeval waters (Nun) that existed before creation. Water is a metaphor for the aether itself. It is from the primeval waters that the creation of
the universe originated. Even the book of Genesis speaks of the Spirit of God dwelling over the waters
and how He divided the waters from the waters. God spoke ‘let there be light and there was light’!
Finding the inner fire or aether, cosmic electricity, chi, prana, qi and the telesma which Thoth Hermes
describes in his Emerald Tablet also connected to Tiamat’s tablets. This force comes from the heart of
the galactic center. The dragon work is to channel this telesma within your cells until a transformation
takes place. “Words are of Time… Symbols are of Eternity.
The Hermetic tradition is one of the oldest spiritual traditions in the world, and while no direct evidence links the Book of Thoth to Eastern religions, it shares uncanny similarities in concepts and terminology with Taoism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. In the West, the Hermetic traditions were encoded
in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as well as the heretical beliefs of the Gnostics. The Dragon Tarot,
like the Secret Doctrine, gives clues to the evolution humanity. Astrology, Cabala, numerology, and the
Tarot were sacrosanct to the Mother Goddess. In fact, the very word Tarot derives from the name of
Egypt’s most ancient goddess, Tarut. Thoth- Hermes, Mercury, Odin, Adonis, Tammuz, and Atum Ra,
inherited her wisdom. The Dragon Tarot is replete with elemental archetypes.
Correspondences between the I Ching and Tarot.
The I Ching and the Tarot are two great prophetic systems which also convey ancient wisdom symbolically. They also reveal the mysteries of the universe and our evolution. Both systems contain a fixed set
of symbols, each expressed with formal signs (lines of hexagrams, symbols and symbolic images (maxims attached to hexagrams and lines, pictures and divination meanings of images). First, these systems
have a different number of elements: the Tarot deck contains 78 cards, while the I Ching comprises 64
hexagrams. Second, 64 hexagrams are of equal rank while Tarot cards are divided into 22 Major and 56
Minor Arcana. The number of cards exceeds the number of hexagrams by 14 (78 - 64 = 14). This is an
important number for the Tarot since 14 is the number of cards in each suit of the Minor Arcana.
Structure of the Tarot
The first 22 major arcana are a door to our unconscious that allows us to take a journey to our primary
source of being. The images project all the archetypes within the context of our soul’s journey. Thus,
when consulted we see our own life reflected on these images. The images show aspects of our personality that want to be recognized and not hidden. They bring us important messages in non-verbal
symbolic languages; this is why the Tarot has an immense power to activate our imagination, because
the images are inspired in human experience and in the deepest levels of our mind. We begin to do this
in life by moving from living on the surface of life to moving into these depths. Ultimately we must also
evolve the un-evolved subconscious realms within, which we do by opening our heart to all that exists.
The Major Arcana are divided into two groups: 10 (I-X) static principles and 12 (XI-XXII) represent
dynamic principles. The Minor Arcana consist of four suits. Each suit, consisting of 14 cards; from ace
to ten and 4 court cards: king, queen, prince and princess. For example, four aces are ruled by the Magus, four twos are ruled by the High Priestess four threes are ruled by the Empress, four tens are ruled
by the Heirophant.
Originally the suits of the Tarot are represented by the elementals; salamanders -wands, undinescups, sylphs-swords and satyrs-pentacles. There are four basic elements of nature: fire, air, earth,
and water. Within each of the four elements are nature spirits that are the spiritual essence of that
element. They are made up of etheric substance that is unique and specific to their particular element. They are living entities often resembling humans but in other dimensions.
dragons -wands - fire
satyrs - pentacles - earth
Undines - cups- water
sylphs -- swords - air
We are all living breathing zodiacs. The True Book of Life has exactly 78 pages and these are the
Tarot. The Universe is here to teach us love and forgiveness so we can get off the wheel of karma.
Access the Soul through Tarot. In the Ra material, the Tarot is analyzed in terms of archetypes. Any
process of development or creation is seen to involve these archetypes the concept is multifaceted
and complex. See Book IV of Law of One. David Wilcock posits that there are 22 experiences
needed for an entire spiritual awakening and they are known as “archetypes”… and these are written by the Mind of the Universe long before we were created.
Thoth-Hermes created the 22 major Arcana of the Tarot to have a synchronistic resonance or patterns
of thought with the cosmic template that sustains the personal holographic matrix. When we contemplate an image of the Major Arcana we have encoded that key with a valuable message that we need to
hear now. Close your eyes and tune into that message as the subconscious mind is guided by the higher
Self which will guide you to find the right image at the right time.
Images are the preferred language of the mind to activate the latent strands of DNA. Constant reference to the imagery of major arcana can restore the higher levels of consciousness of our original blue
print from the Universal Mind. David Wilcock believes that our minds maybe hardwired to experience
specific archetypes in various lifetimes and until all 22 archetypes are experienced it is not possible to
shift into the fourth dimension. Immersing oneself in the imagery of these archetypes will keep the ego
from wasting its energy in resisting what the Universal Mind has encoded in our personal bio-computer
In Wilcock’s words,” this provocative model suggests that humanity is on the verge of a near-spontaneous metamorphosis into a more highly evolved state of consciousness. What are the ramifications
of this? Imagine activating 100% of our 2 strand DNA, plus 10 additional strands! We will go from
using 10% of our brain to becoming a multi-dimensional being with psychic, telepathic, and manifestation abilities beyond anything we’ve ever dreamed of. Ethno- botanist and consciousness guru Terence
McKenna agrees, calling the Hermetic teachings “a formula for a holographic matrix” that is mirrored
in the human mind which offers us its only hope for future survival.
Tarot is invaluable when all psycho therapeutic work has failed to determine the next step to be taken
for the souls evolution for the images will identify the karmic challenge and even in the time frame in
which it occurred. It is “Zero-Point Medicine,” by which we can renew, sustain and realize our potential.
Every Tarot key has an astrological correspondence. After birth, we attract certain energies which
explain why we have cycles of positive and negative relationships. And because our own actions constantly create karma we have our ups and downs in life. As long as we remain unaware of these forces
we are subject to them.
Only we can overcome and transform them. When we transform the positive and negative energies
operating within us we can control our own fate. The world is also subject to the same forces from the
cosmos. Everything that happens on earth is a direct response to the interaction between cosmic fate
and human karma. The Tarot is rooted in the spiritual diversity of ancient civilizations for Divine Consciousness is experienced in infinite forms through the process of evolution. This unity in diversity is
the secret to everything in a conscious life.
The Tarot is a powerful oracle to commune with the universe and is as relevant as ever for the oracle is
where the individual soul communes with the Universal Soul. Whereas logic speaks to the logical left
side of our brain, oracles communicate through symbol and image, directly to the intuitive right-side
of the brain. We are overwhelmed with media input. We need to attain equanimity by stimulating and
using the artistic/symbolic right-side of the brain which will give balance to life. Quiet meditation on
each of the keys will awaken within each person, personal insights to support the transformation that
must take place within each soul.
The 22 Major Arcana (Secrets) relate to the “universal principles” of life and “archetypal” personality
types. Twelve keys represent the signs of the zodiac and ten represent the planets in our solar system.
They are multi-dimensional as they portray the (Neters) gods and goddesses from many civilizations
representing different states of consciousness. Write the results down in your Journal regularly, by doing
so, you enhance your intuition and place yourself in direct communion with Universal Consciousness.
The mystery schools reveal the workings of the Cosmic Laws that can reprogram your DNA to integrate
your personality with your Soul. Find a quiet time every day, no matter how overwhelmed you are feeling to contemplate in silence. Then state your intention; Intentions enable you to change your karma.
One of the easiest ways to activate your DNA and accelerate your Soul consciousness is to make the
following Afformation. “Why am I the cosmic energy of the universe?
We all live in our own parallel universe. Everyone reading this has a slightly different angle to everyone
else. Each angle is unique since we occupy our own space. Brian Greene, one of our foremost physicists
and the bestselling author of The Elegant Universe and The Fabric of the Cosmos, asks the most mindboggling question in modern physics and cosmology: Is our universe the only universe? His most recent book, The Hidden Reality, is an amazing voyage through a vast unimaginable ‘Dragon’.
1.The Magus: mars and mercury
hoth-Hermes is the first Magus who created the ‘Emerald Tablets’ in the Royal Court Of The
Dragon of Al-Khem. The Dragon was the essence of the Holy Spirit, which, according to the Book
of Genesis, moved upon the waters of time. In Sumeria, it was called the Gra-al - the Sacred Blood of
the Dragon Queens. This sacred blood was called “ambrosia.” which supercharged the pineal gland
or third eye, with spiritual insight. The Magus can draw upon his inner strength to make a goal a reality for he has at his disposal all the elements and their counterparts: the cup, indicating water and
imagination; the sword, indicating air and intellect; the pentacle, earth and the body, and the caduceus/wand, fire and will-power. In his lower aspect Thoth-Hermes mirrors the trickster in us—thus
emphasizing that even our best qualities have their shadow side. The Magician represents the powers
that you possess to create meaning and purpose in your life. He tells us that this creative power is in
and around you and always available. He teaches how things work in the world by understanding the
structure underlying its cycles and rhythms.
Challenge: Although you are eloquent, charismatic, clever, witty, inventive and persuasive, beware of
dominating those around you. Although these qualities are not generally criticized by society they are
different personalities that need to be unified under the guidance of your inner guru. Your pioneering
spirit is in reality a way to avoid facing these layers of illusion and can prevent you from discovering
that you are not these personas. Pay attention to everyday life. Remember all the power you possess
comes from a higher level. Focus on what you want and eliminate those things, which distract you.
You have abused power and you have an overpowering ego, which makes you selfish, arrogant, and
insensitive. Your inflexibility causes you to row against the tide and sets you up for failure and loneliness. Your lack of willpower confuses your life’s purpose. Do not use the forces of nature for selfish
purposes. You are blocking your creative energies. Learn by experimentation – try new things.
2.The high priestess: vulcan -uranus & moon
he High Priestess advises you to take time to listen to your inner voice. She wants you to gain
knowledge before you act: instinctual knowledge, supernatural knowledge, secret knowledge, selfknowledge. God is male and female. So in order for us to be a complete theist we have to understand
that we have to worship not only God as masculine, but the Goddess, the Divine Mother. The moon
rules the High Priestess and the number two is ruled by Uranus. Vulcan, god of blacksmiths, stokes the
fire of determination to ensure that ideas are not extinguished. The High Priestess symbolizes the power
of the unconscious forces in the world that give form and purpose. She has experienced life so she has
empathy for your struggles. This demonstrates that life survives death. By taking on new forms she
can lead to deep wisdom, but she can also lead to madness. Number two makes you acutely conscious
of others and as you are socially aware of people your stimulation is derived from them. This makes
you a diplomat, go-between, mediator or peacemaker. Your best service is through your cooperative
nature. This key means that you intuitively understand the answer to a problem although not always
consciously. You may well become the power behind the throne. The number two suggests more than
one, yet in reality we are all One.
Challenge: You should pay a great deal of attention to your health through your eating habits so that
you have the energy to be of service to others. Seek new and hidden paths to wisdom. Learn to question
the lessons of the unconscious for it does not always lead to wisdom. Question how you have divided
your world by judging yourself and others. Your excessive focus on unimportant details and perfectionism can prevent you from listening to your intuition. This will cause passiveness, weakness, and fear of
life. You may be expressing your emotions in a negative way. You lack self-confidence and are therefore
indecisive and afraid to make decisions. You can be deceitful, two-faced, oversensitive, and easily depressed if your dreams are thwarted by those close to you.
3.The empress: jupiter & venus
he Empress is pure consciousness itself, the knowledge that returns us to the source of who you are.
She is an aspect of the subconscious mind, ruled by Venus, the main astrological symbol for our affections and feelings. Venus works in conjunction with Jupiter to increase productivity, love, abundance,
and fertility. The Empress represents the veil of Maya (illusion). She represents the need to control the
cosmic forces that are not controllable and often represents smothering mothers. She also represents the
blood that carries the energy flowing through all living things.
Challenge: Your natural talents — acting, social work, counseling and the law — give you a love of life
through the pleasure of relationships, entertainment and new experiences but these talents, if not used
properly, can be a diversion from knowing who you really are. Avoid work that confines you as you
need to move around to express yourself in order to do your best work enthusiastically. It is important
to understand that all emotions stem from the pure essence of love. Thus, fear and hate are its opposite.
Pity and sentimentality represent perversions, contortions or negations of the love quotient. Do not
express your emotions in a negative way because they reinforce negative behavior patterns. As you want
recognition you tend to exaggerate situations so that friendships may well be superficial. You may try to
avoid responsibility and live a life of instant gratification.
4.The emperor: Aries & earth
he Emperor of Crocodopolis, Sobek, was the original Pendragon of warriors and and protected
the pharaoh from evil magic. The Egyptian word for crocodile fat was Messeh from which the
term Messiah is derived. To be anointed with crocodile oil, was to absorb powerful, unchanging
dragon energy and assimilate this into the body. Moshe, or Moses, was a ritual title, and was a reference to the crocodile fat used in temple and pyramid ceremonies. The Emperor rules the external
world that exists outside the conscious elements in the material world, the unity and order in your
life. His God-like ability enables him to discern the truth in any given situation. It is his wisdom to
handle affairs systematically that has placed him on the throne. His strength gives stability to accept
external forces out of our control. True intuition is based on number four. This key indicates that
you have the ability for leadership and spiritual growth through ideas, experience, higher education,
travel, religion and deep philosophical thought. The Emperor governs the need for honesty, fairness
and respect for the rights and freedom of others. He is a solid foundation in times of change and
Challenge: Control your own sensual desires and overcome the tendency to be rigid and inflexible.
Examine all external forces that prohibit the fulfillment of your destiny, discarding all outgrown
comforting myths. Don’t risk stagnation and keep a ceiling on desires, which lead to spiritual or
material decline. Prepare for unseen difficulties through carelessness, impulsive spending and grandiosity. Have compassion for those who you dislike, stop listening to the head, and listen to the heart.
Renunciation leads to joy; attachment brings discontent. Be in the world, but not of it.
5.The hierophant: mercury & taurus
he Hierophant Moses, like Hermes, meets the great dragon Pymander on Mount Sion who instructs
him as to the true nature of the universe. He is not bound by the conventional laws of society.
Each soul’s path is unique and you may be guided to traditional religion, prayer, contemplation and
meditation. All ways will take you to the source of who you are eventually. Ignore the soul at your
peril! The nature of Mercury (Hermes) expresses itself in our mind as light, wisdom, intelligence, and
quickness —especially in an intellectual sense. He was the messenger of the gods, and also, like Jesus,
the psychopomp or conductor of souls to the netherworld. The origin of the shepherd’s crook in
religious symbolism can be traced to the Egyptian Mystery Schools. Mercury rules number five and
represents intelligence, movement and communication, the inner teacher and the inner voice. Sages
have always said that ‘Self Realization’ comes when you awaken to the awareness of the soul. True
inner hearing does not involve spirits, clairvoyance or visions from the astral planes. With the help of
Taurus/Mercury, your conscious mind, studies the facts and places them in your subconscious data
base which, in a flash of realization, sends the analysis back to the conscious mind. This is true intuition
based on reason.
Challenge: Assess your spiritual growth and recognize the limitations of fame and glory. Learn to act
and not react, and know that you are more than a collection of five senses. Don’t take the meaning of
events too literally, be gullible, or over analyze everything before taking action. Look for the deeper
meaning to the question. Strive for spiritual truth by working with the practical aspects of life. Be open
to meeting a spiritual teacher who guides you towards your Real Self, not the ego driven self. This key is
a reminder not to stay too grounded in the material world, as there is a heavy price to pay for deviating
from the path of spiritual truth.
6.The lovers: Gemini & venus
he Lovers is ruled by Gemini. In Tantric Yoga the lovers represent Shiva and Shakti, the male
and female principles. The act, when properly practiced, eventually culminates in samadhi,
wherein each of the participants dissolve in the unity of cosmic consciousness. Hierogamy between
the Dragon Prince and the Swan Maiden resulted in the creation of a unified consciousness. Lovers
are a union of opposites but complimentary components. Venus seeks to unite the seemingly opposing forces of Gemini into harmony. Venus, as the ruler of six, creates the urge for peace and love
with family and friends. Love is generally understood as romantic, passionate or as the meeting of a
new soul-mate. But, at a deeper level, this key represents personal choices to be made in some sphere
of life. This choice is not an easy one, since there are usually too many options. The Lovers key role
is to relax and access inner wisdom, encouraging surrender to the profound energy of Love, even if
it seems impractical. To dance on the royal road with your ‘Beloved,’ is the most powerful energy of
all. This key urges you to feel the life-giving energy of Love for all those around you. Pure love is a
state of ‘Being.’ All obstacles in life can be overcome through unconditional love, a force, which is an
expression of the soul. Universal love has nothing to do with infatuation, attachment or lust. When
unconditional love is experienced there is no separation. Love is the totality of ‘Oneness.’
Challenge: It is time to decide between opposing alternatives. Love can be blind! Understand that
love is a state of being that animates your total being. Don’t be selfish. Like attracts like. Being selfconsumed leaves nothing to give. Love is not bondage but brings balance and harmony. Our greatest
lessons are learned from the negative patterns mirrored in our lover. Discontent and jealousy create
the martyr. Solve your relationship challenges by self-enquiry. The key is to discriminate between the
true and the false.
7.The chariot: moon & cancer
he Chariot, Sanskrit – Vahana, Hebrew – Merkhabah, is the vehicle of Light mentioned in the Bible by
Ezekiel. “Mer” means Light. “Ka” means Spirit. “Ba” means body. The body is often called the chariot
for the inner charioteer, the Soul. Remember that the Dragon is the vehicle that takes you to your True Self.
It is not you, but your vehicle. Contemplation on the Chariot guides the divine will of the Soul. The Chariot, ruled by Cancer, provides protection for the spiritual seeker. However, beware; Cancers are the masters
of the art of passive resistance. The Chariot represents the power of focused intention and is all about motion, and yet, it is often shown as motionless. On the one hand, the Chariot indicates loyalty and faith and
on the other, a motivation to succeed at any cost. The Chariot stands for the desire for freedom, ambition,
the search for paradise lost, or the need for recognition. This key shows Horus steering the emotions of
the sphinxes, but indicates inexperience (entering an unknown formless world of spirit). On its most basic
level the Chariot implies inner struggle, and an eventual victory through rigorous self-examination.
Challenge: The Chariot warns us against being too focused on material gain. Keep your intent to gain the
self-confidence to leap into the void. You are moving too fast. Pull back the reigns and slow down. Broaden
your world view, avoid spinning wheels, and beware of working too hard with little to show for it. Achieve
your goal one step at a time. Do not overestimate your own confidence – rather, take time to gain insight,
you have much to learn. Do not be melancholic and learn to control your opposing emotions. This key
gives new motivation or inspiration to solve a stagnant situation. Avoid burnout. You are too focused on
fame and fortune. Remember Phaethon, who took the reigns of the Sun’s chariot against his father’s advice,
burnt the world. Take heed of this key or Zeus will send you a bolt of lightening to really burn you out.
Success can be obtained without the need for control.
8. justice; uranus & libra
ustice, symbolized by Anubis who attends the weighing scale in the Afterlife during the “Weighing
Of The Heart”. The oldest known mention of Anubis is in the Old Kingdom pyramid texts, where
he is associated with the burial of the pharaoh. Anubis is depicted in funerary contexts where he is
shown attending to the mummies of the deceased or sitting atop a tomb protecting it. In fact, during
embalming, the “head embalmer” wore an Anubis costume. The critical weighing of the heart scene
in the Book of the Dead also shows Anubis performing the measurement that determined the worthiness of the deceased to enter the realm of the dead (the underworld, known as Duat. The Aeon
of Maat in 2012 heralds a new golden age of self-realization. Ask yourself, “Who Am I?”Libra is the
balance amidst constant change. The importance of this key is to stay in the present moment with
out judging past mistakes and worrying about the future. Libra and Uranus, emphasized by master
number eleven, represent a balanced life when actions are weighed and measured by the Soul. When
the life force is misused dis-ease, accidents, legal difficulties and impulsive decisions will occur. Saturn’s exaltation of Libra ensures a sense of justice and integrity. As Libra is ruled by Venus one must
communicate through love. Libra rules the organs of detoxification that keeps the body in balance.
Challenge. Justice signals that your world is dangerously out of balance and needs adjusting. It is important, however, to be aware that most external problems are an externalized inner conflict. When
anger is rarely expressed you explode like a volcano. Don’t escape reality in the oblivion of drugs and
alcohol. A constant state of anger occurs when knowledge of Self is denied. Understand that what
you dislike in others is a reflection of something that needs to be healed in yourself. Beware of creating negative karma by misuse of power. Selfless service helps you to stay in the eternal Now.
9.the hermit: sun & virgo
he Virgo symbol M and a Vesica Pisces symbol of a Vulva stems from the Egyptian hieroglyph ‘’Mut’ the Mother
from which the cosmos emerged, The vulture goddess Mut was an androgyny, having breasts and an erect phallus
symbolized by Scorpio’s erect tail after Virgo and Scorpio are split in two. Hindu astrology is the key to understand
ing the true meaning of the M glyph. It is the released energy – sometimes called Kundalini. In Hindu iconography M
is portrayed as a three-coiled serpent related to two hieroglyphs in the zodiac: Virgo of the 6th sign and Scorpio the
8th before Libra existed. In Virgo the M ‘tail’ turns back on itself; the sexual energy is not released – hence the Virgin.
In Scorpio the ‘tail’ is erect indicating release; Scorpio is the sign relating to sexuality.
Virgo’s keen discrimination anchors the goal. Nine is the number of completion of a cycle and the foundation for the next. The Hermit exemplifies Christ consciousness. She is the guide to your inner guru.
Physical incarnation is for the sole purpose of aligning Soul with personality. Contemplate what is really
important in a life on overload. Mediation can bring order out of chaos by seeing what doesn’t work.
This key signifies that it is time to examine what you want rather than what others would like you to
have. Hermits are rarely understood for they walk to the beat of a different drummer, preferring solitude
Challenge: Time spent quietly gives access to the same truth as the Hermit. Overcome the natural tendency to be shy and reserved. Learn to trust despite deep wounds from the past, overcome fear of
vulnerability and avoid secretiveness. Beware of becoming a Peter Pan, the perennial child who avoids
responsibility in life. Discriminate between the essential and the trivial. Learn to listen to your inner
voice. Don’t be self-absorbed, selfish, indulgent, or, when crossed, react angrily. Your razor sharp mind
is a formidable weapon. High standards create nervous tension, which makes friends uneasy in your
company. Try to reach out to people with compassion, understanding and wisdom.
10.wheel of eternity: Jupiter & mars
he serpent is a wave form of energy which the Maya portrayed as the Ecliptic as a 'Double-Headed Serpent'. The constellations
on the ecliptic are called the zodiac. Within the limits of this rim, the ancients conceived that the Fixed Stars were
in a special way connected with the Milky Way. Which brings us to the Lion, Bull, Cherub and Phoenix standing
for Leo, Taurus, Aquarius and Scorpio, the fixed signs of the Zodiac. These are symbolic of the four elements (four
suits of the tarot), four compass points, four seasons, and the four corners of the universe. This key signals a need
to understand your inner reality and underscores the cyclical nature of your spiritual growth and development. The
Serpent biting its tail or the Ouroboros is a symbol of eternity and continual renewal of life; it also
represents the eternal arbiter between the cycles of good and evil. Ten begins a new cycle as it is a repetition of one,
which brings a change in fortune. Here we have the Soul’s power of zero working through One. Jupiter expands the
Soul’s spiritual principles. If the wheel of fortune does not turn you will be stuck. With Jupiter as its ruling planet,
the Wheel of Fortune is all about luck and change. The wheel symbolizes completeness as well as the rise and fall
of fortunes and the message that what goes around comes around. Almost every definition of this card indicates
abundance, happiness, elevation, or luck; a change that just happens, and brings with it great joy.
Challenge: Accept the gift of adversity without struggle for it may be followed by success or failure. Bad fortune
comes with overindulgence. Use previous experiences from other lives to spiritually influence others who do not
learn from past mistakes. What is done today is because of what occurred yesterday and what was done tomorrow
will depend on what occurred today. Analyze past mistakes and learn from them. Today’s challenges are tomorrow’s
opportunities. Do nothing and the universal force will do what’s best for the Soul. Go with the flow and grow because resistance causes stagnation. Greater satisfaction with life comes from living in harmony with the cycles and
rhythms of the universe.
11. strength leo & Saturn
trength unlocks the secret wisdom of Leo within. This key is about self -confidence ; to
know strength comes from within. Engaging with the energy of Strength is to step out of
the comfort zone and dance with illicit feelings. This may feel like disloyalty to the higher
self but if we resist them they impede the integration of the soul and the personality. When we
learn to say, “I am that” we are a step closer to experiencing our real selves.
The important message of the Strength key is not to give up and to have the courage to succeed with unfailing optimism. As long as you feel that you’re in a position of authority and
responsibility, you will do all in your power to justify the confidence placed in you. You thrive
on adversity and dare to think and act bigger than others would normally dare to. You are a
down to earth realist and may be seen as a ‘lion’ of industry, and in the forefront of cutting edge
technologies. The Strength key reminds us that we are in sight of our goals, and that spiritual
power can help us overcome material desires. Be patient and persevere, and eventually your
force of character will shine through. The lighter nature of love will triumph over the evil of our
Challenge: Watch your anger and keep your integrity. Don’t be over ambitious. Like trying to
tame a lion, you might get scratched trying to control a situation that involves someone else or
your own lower instincts. Your desire for authority is unfulfilled and you may become lazy or
impetuous which may lead to a lack of confidence. Learn to control yourself. Stop questioning
your abilities. Your weaknesses are the worst enemy. Avoid being domineering, ruthless and
disruptive. Upheaval is a way of life for you. Develop your spiritual nature for if the bottom falls
out of your material life you will have self-confidence from knowing your inner self. Acknowl-
12.the cosmic Tree; jupiter & neptune
amael the Serpent entwined in the Branches of Lilith’s Apple Tree in the Garden of Eden depicts the
concept of the Dragon eating the fruits of Lilith. There is a clear link here with Sumeria and Anu’s
mother Tiamat, the Dragoness of the deeps, and with Anu’s children Samael and Lilith, the forebears of
the dragons. In religion, mythology, and literature, serpents represent a creative life force and are symbols
of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing. In Greek mythology Ladon coiled around the tree in
the garden of the Hesperides protecting the golden apples. Similarly Nidhogg Nagar the dragon of Norse
mythology eats from the roots of the Yggdrasil, the World Tree.
Neptune represents the deep, dark waters where the negative thoughts geminate to make life a living
hell. Jupiter destroys the layers of illusion created by the false reality of the ego that has been obscured
by Neptune. There is no compromising with number 12 for its either knowing who you are and being
liberated or not learning the lessons and constantly coming back to earth until you do. The soul does
what it thinks is right – not what others tell it to do. When the soul directs the personality you are
more self-confident. When you know that you can accept the challenges you face you are able to say
yes to any test that presents itself. There are powerful forces ruling life but you are not attached to the
outcome because you know that the cosmic force from the Galactic Center is the doer.
Challenge: The purpose of 12 is to teach you that you have been living a life of delusion and illusion.
Break with a past, which is too comfortable and embrace change instead of the status quo. Know that
this is the moment when the Soul begins to rule your life. As the higher self is your personal experience of God your inner voice says, “Thy will be done.” You then feel deeply connected to life. It can
also mean that you may pass through a difficult trial because you have lost trust in your intuition.
Free yourself from social pressures to be something you are not. Open yourself to the mysteries of the
13.death: earth & scorpio
he Phoenix, a combination of the eagle and the serpent, represents the highest aspect of
Scorpio; the sign of life and death. The number 13 is sacred as it indicates that the soul and
the personality are in alignment. Of all the zodiacal signs, Scorpio has the power to bring about
this transformation. Our bodies are made of earth and contain the everlasting energy of love.
When worldly attachments are dropped there is space for real love to flourish. One door is closing to open another. Something is coming to a close. Put the past behind you and have a parting
of the ways with what doesn’t work. The reincarnating personality descends from the spiritual
realms to be reborn again on earth. Life and death are part of an eternal process, physical life
ends in death but the soul never dies. Death is a revitalizing force for it makes way for the new.
It offers an opportunity to replace destructive patterns with constructive ways of doing things.
This key is saying: Meet new challenges and cut the ties that bind you to the past. New doors
open as nothing is locked in space. The body dies; the essence of the soul goes on. This is a period of transition, changing status, and moving from the known to the unknown. Scorpio is also
about sex. So even as something is taken from us, something new is created which will step into
the void and give us reason to carry on.
Challenge: Self-destructive patterns impede spiritual growth. Make the necessary changes in
your life and accept the subsequent pain that comes when old patterns are dropped. Play the
game of life and love Your Self. Be willing to cut ties with old relationships that still hold negative energy and make life chaotic. Self-confidence occurs with the alignment of the soul and
personality. Be ready to accept sweeping change. Accept the inevitable. Cut out what isn’t necessary. Shed old attitudes. Get down to basics and bare essentials. Death key represents stagnation without change or a tendency to inertia. It can also show someone who refuses to adapt to
change or accept new things.
14. alchemy: mercury & sagittarius
he art of Alchemy is the ability to turn something ordinary into something extraordinary.
Alchemy is the right mixture, the perfect balance, standing for harmony, beauty and peace.
Yet the key can also show that aspects that were previously ignored should be experienced to
enrich you with new perspectives. The many breasted moon goddess Diana represents fertility. Sagittarius, the centaur, is both animal and human and symbolizes the ability to integrate
disparate elements into a productive whole. Alchemy says “I am a balanced spiritual being in a
physical world following a divine plan. Alchemy accepts everything as it is with out judgment;
yet knowing that all things are possible. Number 14 is two times the 7, adjustment of destiny
. The profound change from the 14 vibration produces great wisdom to select the right path.
The number 14 assists in knowing what is real through self-enquiry. Self-knowledge balances
strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes as well as how to function in different situations.
You may be called upon to advise others.
Challenge: Analyze all the possibilities and proceed with caution. Why live life on the edge if
you don’t have to? There is a lack of control in your life. Temper your passions and desires or
your health may suffer. If you are a workaholic it will create tension in your personal life. When
you get angry with yourself and others, temper your anger with forgiveness and make your
heart pure. A nervous, impulsive nature creates problems. A fragmented life prevents accomplishment. Meditate on what is out of balance. Physical appetites may harm you; envy, jealousy,
and divorce are common problems for a negative 14. Seemingly irreconcilable opposites may
not be irreconcilable at all. Try to put thesis and anti-thesis together for a useful synthesis. It
will take time, care, patience, experimentation and temperance. The questioner is surrounded
by discord and disharmony. Get in touch with your spiritual nature. There is enough to go
around, and you have enough time to fulfill your goals. Wish for the success of others and you’ll
begin to see positive change for yourself.
15.the devil: venus & capricorn
he devil is portrayed by Lilith ( Serpent) who is also the Tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden.
The Mayans said all mankind was made of ’menstrual blood’ in the beginning. The same idea prevailed in ancient Mesopotamia, where the Goddess Lilith made her offspring out of clay and infused
them with her “blood of life.” She taught her priestess’ to form clay dolls and smear them with menstrual blood. The Serpent in the Garden of Eden is one of the most powerful archetypes of initiation.
The duality of Venus finds fertile ground in 15, which knows everything is illusion. This means that you
can escape being trapped in an uncontrollable ego. Through Capricorn, the apex of the zodiac, spirituality is an inspiration for others on the same path. 15 – is virtue or vice; there is no middle ground. The
Devil may appear to be the adversary but sometimes he is our best and only ally to promote the alignment of the soul and personality. Since the ego covertly sabotages spiritual practice while tricking you
into believing that it is cooperating with the Soul. The devil’s purpose is to force you to make right decisions. The inner battle goes on as you are constantly caught in the middle of what is right and wrong.
Challenge: Humor enables laughter at grandiosity. Liberate yourself from the conventional concept
of the devil. Delve beneath the surface and believe in more than what is obvious to the senses. Realize that you create the limitations in your life. A narrow materialistic view of life impedes judgment.
Life is stagnant when the truth is ignored by burying your head in the sand. Manipulating others for
personal gain keeps you in a state of fear. Learn from the darker side of your personality. Take a look at
the addictions that lurk in the subconscious. Loosen the chains and slip out of the power of your ego.
The Devil’s torch can light the way out. Material wealth leaves you when you die while spiritual wealth
16.the tower; moon & mars
he keyword for The Tower is awakening. This comes as a clear flash of understanding, a
bolt from the blue bringing awareness of the true nature of self. A flash of lightening is another symbol of the electrical serpent force, or the kundalini. Astrologically, the Tower and the
number 16 is ruled by the Moon and Mars. The Dove and olive branch represent peace, while
the Serpent and arrows represents war. Mars is the driving force within any given mechanism,
including the human body. It also rules the head, through Aries. After the kundalini or Mars
force within the body is driven up the spine, to the head, final illumination must take place. The
Tower, a portal to the Soul, contains ceremonial initiation chambers. Mars gives awareness to
the Soul’s thoughts. Basic desires (one, Mars) must be refined by (six, Venus) before they become reality in the subconscious mind (seven, Moon). Once the subconscious mind receives a
thought it becomes a reality; it is only a question of time before the thought is acted out in the
world. The bolt of lightening destroys the clouds of illusion that hide the inner reality of the
Soul so the thoughts can be brought to the surface for analysis and release in a conscious way.
Challenge: You are going to have a psychological and spiritual upheaval, which results in a transcendental state of consciousness. Do not succumb to thoughts of failure and catastrophe. You
are angry and frustrated because you are burnt out by emotional distress. Lack of faith causes
pessimism and clouds your view of the world. Break free from emotional bondage and get used
to doing things in a new way. Prepare for the rocky road ahead. A new approach to thinking
about the problem is needed, think outside the box. Truth may not be what your ego wants
to hear. It may be time to re-examine your belief structures, ideologies, and paradigms. Seek
17.the pole star; saturn & aquarius
he Pole Star, is the center of the Universe. Therefore, the Pole Star, the Hole in the Center,
was the entrance to the Other Worlds. Thuban is the Alpha star of Draco (the Dragon)
Around 2170 BC it shone down the descending passage of the Great Pyramid as it had donewhen it was built less than 26,000 years earlier. After it ceased to be the pole star, it shared the
fate of all the fallen gods and was treated as an evil demon. When Draco was the circumpolar
constellation, it gave birth to the myths that brought catastrophe from the Deluge of the Dragon Comet Tiamat to our ancestors but led to the rebirth of the Dragon Bloodline and modern
civilization. The word “Dragon” is interchangeable in most myths with “The Serpent” which
represents “Wisdom” and “Self-Determination
On a spiritual level, The Milky Way is our connection to the cosmos as the electrical body is able
to absorb even higher vibrations of truth. 17 – incorporates the seven of receptivity (the Moon)
and the one of concentration (Mars). Together they equal eight (Saturn), which corresponds
with the rising spiritual force at the base of the spine and makes meditation easier. The light of
the Galactic Sun activates the desire for a spiritual practice. Key 17 signals that goals and aspirations are only realized by taking positive action and promises an eventual peace of mind.
Challenge: If you have been holding back in any way, now is the time to give generously. Listen to the waves of information coming to you from the stars and be open to all possibilities.
Meditate frequently and get in touch with your inner visions. Do not let difficult moments overwhelm you, as there is light at the end of the tunnel.
18.the moon: sun & pisces
he moon is symbolized by Letona the Hyperborean wolfdragon- goddess of the Roman
Capitoline and mother of the moon goddess Artemis. The Historia Augusta mentions that
the wolf- dragon became the Roman imperial flag. Valhalla in Norse mythology, was the “hall
of the Valks”, and Valkeries, Odins male and female wolf warriors who chose the heroes to fill
Valhalla. In the Prose Edda Odin is referred to as “raven-god”. In Celtic mythology, Morrighan
the warrior goddess often appears in the form of a raven, The name of the Welsh god Bran
the Blessed translates to “raven.” According to the Mabinogion, Bran’s head was buried in the
White Hill of London as the ravens in the Tower protect Britain from invasion. Robert Graves
equates Bran and Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine. Like Bran, Asclepius is associated with
the raven - a scavenging bird with the gift of prophesy.
The symbolism in key 18 shows that the subconscious mind can be changed through the tests
of Saturn. When Saturn is energized by Mars it results in Self Realization. The Sun, representing
true Consciousness, finds its own true identity in key 18. There are two centers: The Soul, which
is immortal and the Personality, which is mortal when it is unaware of the Soul. Realization is
attainable in 18 because the light of the Moon shines through the clouds of illusion to align the
soul with the personality.
Challenge: Do not fear strange emotions, dreams, or even hallucinations for they enrich life.
It is vital to take care of the body’s health. Think positively and take fresh air, exercise, rest,
and sunlight. Do not deny your power to heal. If you become a healer your presence alone is a
powerful force to relieve suffering. Embrace disturbed emotions that cause irritability and heal
them. This is not the moment to leave your comfort zone.
19.the sun: mars & the sun
ccording to one Maya myth, it was a supernatural Jaguar Sun who rose each day in the east and
prowled until finally plunging into the darkness of the west. Then Jaguar Sun fights the Lords
of Xibalba (the Underworld) all night. Through his strength and cunning, Jaguar Sun wins the right
to rise each day in the East. Thus Jaguar Sun dominates both day and night. The sun’s movements
through the zodiac were considered the mirror of our life in spirit. To follow the yearly
journey of the sun through the zodiac was to epitomize graphically the whole history of
human experience. The power of the Sun is a living power identical with your spiritual
power. The driving force of Mars must be controlled and raised to a higher level through
the awareness of the true life-giving power of the Sun. All our energy comes from the
Sun, and we in turn must radiate the energy we receive from it. The Sun rules the intellect
and highlights hidden desires that cloud the awareness of Divinity. This key indicates that
many turn to you for guidance because people are attracted to your inner wisdom. It can
also mean that your Soul has been here on earth many times before and may be completing its mission by marrying the right soul mate.
Challenge: The light of the sun is obscured by your lack of faith and refusal to overcome
Mars aggressive influence. Be like a Sunflower that always faces the Sun to absorb its power. There is a lack of purpose in your life because your personality is not aligned with your
Soul. Create a positive image of yourself but refrain from self-indulgence. Master your
emotions, which cause loss of the Real Self.
20.regeneration: vulcan and saturn
hen we attune with the power of Horus the Regenerator, and inherit the freedom dreamt of, we
do not become immoral. On the contrary, we require greater discipline and order. However, the
structure sought by a spiritual rebel is a far cry from that imposed by religions. In mythology Vulcan
was thrown from heaven to forge the spiritual essence of heaven and earth together. The
analogy of the myth represents the fall of your soul into human form ruled by Saturn. The
soul then has come many times to burn away the layers of illusion that cause false impression
of our separation from the being One with God. Vulcan opens the lines of communication
between the Soul and the ego. Saturn purifies the heart. The universe is the vast body of God,
cosmic electrical energy is the astral form of God, and the soul or life in you is the essence
of creation. With Fire as its ruling element, regenerationt is about healing wounds from the past that
we never let heal, sins we’ve committed that we refuse to forgive, bad habits we haven’t the courage to
lose. Regeneration advises us to finally face these, recognize that the past is past, and put them to rest.,
Challenge: Know that you are the essence of God. Your life will reflect this if you are guided
by your Soul most of the time. No longer question your divinity so that your life’s work starts
in earnest. Find the meaning of life. The keys to liberation are already there but you are unwilling to use them. Accept responsibility for your actions and act rather than react. The call
from the unknown is not listened to because you do not meditate on the breath of life within.
21.the universe; jupiter & saturn
he Universe is symbolized by a serpent coiled in a circle. The goddess symbolizes the
eternal dance of life.. The numbeer 21 guarantees recogmition in life. 21 – marks the
time when there is a pause in life before the next cycle begins. Which brings us to the Lion,
Bull, Goddess and Phoenix standing for Leo, Taurus, Aquarius and Scorpio, the fixed signs
of the Zodiac (also found on The Wheel of Eternity). These are symbolic of the four elements (four suits of the tarot), four compass points, four seasons, and the four corners of
the universe. All within the Dancer’s sight and power. We are about to pass through a null
point of hyper-dimensional space. This awareness helps us comprehend the nature of the
times in which we live and the destiny of the human race. 21 – indicates that you are aware
of the cosmic breath that permeates you. Saturn rules key 21 and uses the energies of the
sacral plexus to uproot deeply rooted desires, for power, money, position, sensual pleasures
and other attractions, which have caused endless trouble. Traditionally the conjunction of
Jupiter and Saturn signals the birth of Avatars who bring the message of love to the world.
This combination of planets seeks to unite things of Earth with the wisdom of Jupiter.
Challenge: Give of yourself for true happiness. Although you’ve passed many tests in life
and are ready to live by the laws of the universe, you still resist knowing that we are all One.
Be ready to play the game of life and follow the path of your Soul’s purpose. The only reason
for being in the world—is to know your True Self, “The I AM.” Stop thinking that even one
aspect of this world is real. Conquer the forces that impede your spiritual development.
22/0.the soul; earth and uranus
he Soul is symbolized by Cygnus, the gateway to the galaxy. Andrew Collins book, The Cygnus
Mystery provides compelling evidence that Cosmic rays from a binary star known as Cygnus
X-3 helped accelerate human evolution during the last Ice Age. Astrologically, the planet Earth is
associated with the Soul and the number 22. Since 22 reduces to a 4 (2 + 2 = 4), the Earth rules over
this vibration. A blending of spiritual consciousness with the proper use and control of the world’s
material offerings, including the body itself, gives ‘Total Truth Consciousness’. The Circle was chosen as a symbol because the solar system appears to surround us like a wheel. Uranus, planetary
ruler of the Soul, dissipates negative thoughts and behavior patterns that impede enlightenment
flowing to those around you. If the Soul’s mission is successful it will be free from the emotions
that force it to constantly return to become liberated. Karma has left its scars on your soul so that is
why it’s returning to heal them. This cycle will continue until the Soul and personality have aligned
as One in the Eternal Now. The Soul is the vital breath at the core of your being which is pure love.
The Soul persists in folly until he becomes wise - or until it leads him to his destruction. Whichever
fate lies in store, your great strength lies in persistence to defend your beliefs or sacrifice them to
Challenge: Follow your soul’s purpose on earth and honor your agreement with the ‘Divine Will.’
From now on accept your vital breath as your real essence. Constantly remember that you are not
the body/mind complex. Use this mantra: As long as this vital breath is there, God is there. Meditate
on the divine energy within you as it can lead you to new heights. With this key anything, or nothing, can happen. Love yourself to become the bliss which is all you will ever be. Repeat the mantra;
I Am God, I am not different to God.

are respected by your family and peers. Your creative and inventive abilities
may express themselves in research and communication. You are practical,
philosophical and spiritual and your wisdom gives you increased perception
to move through difficult situations constructively. Your key phrase should
be, ‘Thy will be done.’
Challenge: You need to learn how to pace yourself in order to avoid early
“burnout.” Find an outlet to serve others. The best way to keep the ego under control is to cultivate kindness and thoughtfulness to others. Avoid judging others and becoming patronizing. You become selfish and blow up when
things don’t go your way. Let go and feel the passion and the fire within. If
your expectations are not irrationally high, the King of Wands will take you
to the summit.
24. Queen of Wands: leo in aries
he Queen of Wands is represented by the feline Egyptian goddess, Bastet, who genetically engineered various kinds of life forms in the universe. Bastet symbolizes the unrestricted potential of all creation. Felines merged their DNA with mammals and began a

Atlantis (and later Egypt), which gave rise to mermaids, minotaurs, centaurs, flying horses
etc. Bastet was seen as defender of Ra, the solar deity, who called her, Lady of the Flame.
The Queen of Wands presides over the second decan of Aries, which is the Leo Decan,
presided over by the Sun. While Aries supplies originality, dynamism and courage, Leo is
relentless until success comes. The Sun adds a steady flow of mental and physical energy to
this Decan. This secondary planetary influence also combines generosity, nobility and leadership balance the aggressive trait inherent in the Aries temperament. Romance, admiration,
gratification and entertainment are of great importance. There is difficulty in life without a
