  • audreyrotenberry Audrey Rotenberry, Certified Professional Coder at Self Employed Contractor Mr Connelly. I too am trying to find out more information about Ida Laura. I just recently learned she was my dads cousin. His name is Billy Turner. He told me fond stories of how much she enjoyed painting his portraits which i found fascinating because I now work for a well known artist and am often used as his subject. I dont know a whole lot. Only that they lived in Birmingham and if I have the correct Ida Laura, she married a radio announcer (dad couldnt remember his name. He is 86 now) Her father was also named Billy as dad always referred to him as Uncle Billy. She then at some point moved to San Jose. Dad said she was fond of a Thomas Wolfe novel called, Look Homeward Angel, which she made him read and to this day, dad loves that book. I have the book now and am now reading it. If any of what i mentioned sounds familiar, let me know. My email address is audreya7x@gmail.com or you can find me on Facebook. 2 months ago

  • terryconnelly94 Terry Connelly My mother, Ida Laura Clark, was a student of Sidney Van Shecks both in Birmingham where she was born and raised and New York when he was there. I would love to know more about that time if anyone has information and if there are any works or photos of my mothers from that time as she has passed on. Through out her life she spoke of Sidney Van Sheck with reference and love for all he had taught her. She also spent her life as an artist and was recognized by such people as Annis Nin a close friend as well. 5 months ago
