Transcript of "How did you attract/address your target audience?"

  1. 1. How did you attract/address your audience?
  2. 2. Firstly, I thought about pop artists and bands who are popular within the pop industry. This is one of the main modes of address to the audience, because the model on the front cover will be the first section that will be directly looking towards the reader. If a magazine front cover did not have a central image then it would look bare and lose it’s purpose of TAYLOR SWIFT what it wants to target.LADY GAGA BRITNEY SPEARS PIXIE LOTTTHE WANTED ONE DIRECTION JUSTIN BIEBER
  3. 3. ● I used a consistent colour theme on the front cover, as this made itlook professional but still colourful because I used a blue, purple colourfor my mast head and various cover lines, however it contrasted withthe use of pink, black and white which made the fonts stand out fromthe background which is of a neutral type of colour, as it is taken in anatural, outdoor environment.● Including a unique selling point was essential to thinking about whatis successful to actually attract the audience. My unique selling point isthat it is aimed at young girls which is extremely specific through theuse of the front cover model and house style.● The language used is important because that is what the audiencewill be reading and if it is not interpreted in the correct way then it willnot attract them so I used an informal tone/language for my magazine, and using a friendly, warm approach directly involves the reader sousing first person techniques is always a good way to interact with theaudience. Using ‘you’ directly involves the reader, instead of being too general.
  4. 4. ● The mast head and centre image are directly facing the readerstraight away, as they are the main attraction. The content shownon the front cover, such as what is in the magazine; celebrities, interviews, posters etc intrigue the audience and therefore, willwant to read more.● It is good to give a confident vibe to your magazine, as it showsa representation in a positive way.● From my questionnaire results, I found that the most purchaseswould be made from a supermarket which shows that thesupermarket will be local to them, and not a hassle to buy. I woulddistribute to any major supermarkets as that seems to be the easyand popular access.● The majority of people in my questionnaire results said that theyare attracted to buying magazines if interviews with celebrities areincluded, and so I made the cover story an interview with a popularsinger of today’s society.
