Otro pensamiento para la meditación:Cuando se anda este camino, debes prepararte para vivir de acuerdo con otra de las leyes espirituales, la cual dice que todo tiene un precio. Quien trate de evitar esto a final de cuentas pagará un precio mayor. Todas las personas hacen esto de un modo u otro; algunos lo hacen de maneras mas obvias, otros más sutil y secretamente.

Mucha gente no lo hace hacia el exterior, pero psicológicamente todos lo están haciendo, especialmente cuando se acercan a este camino con los ojos abiertos sólo a medias. Dense cuenta de que sí hay un precio, pero ¡bien vale la pena! No puedes esperar tener un palacio por el precio de una barraca.En el nivel material esta verdad no te causa problemas, pero en los niveles emocionales, psicológico y espiritual constantemente estás deseando un palacio por el precio de una choza —y a veces a cambio de nada.

El precio que pagas al andar este camino de desarrollo es definitivamente alto, pero no hay ningún otro modo sobre la tierra o en el cielo para alcanzar la armonía, el amor, la felicidad y la completa seguridad interior. EL precio es: nada de auto-conmiseración, ningún auto-engaño, gran severidad con el pequeño ego, tiempo, esfuerzo, paciencia, perseverancia y valor.

Lo que recibirás a cambio de este precio realmente vale cien veces más, pero no esperes ver la recompensa inmediatamente después de haber empezado. Y me refiero a un período de al menos uno o dos años del trabajo descrito, a condición de que no trabajes a medias. En otras palabras, y hablando simbólicamente, ¡primero debes pagar el precio de contado!

Sé que mis palabras no son lo que le gusta oír a la gente auto-indulgente. No existe ningún método fácil y ninguna fórmula mágica para obtener la felicidad que todos buscan. No puedo prometerles regalos preciosos del cielo en la tierra a cambio del ejercicio de ciertas plegarias. Si les dijera esas cosas, tendrían toda la razón de sospechar y dudar, aunque tal vez eso es lo que preferirían oír. Lo que les estoy ofreciendo es real y verdadero.

Cada uno de ustedes tiene la posibilidad de descubrirlo por sí mismo haciendo la prueba y siguiendo mis consejos. Mis consejos comienzan con esto: mediten sobre las palabras que les he dicho aquí. Consideren cuál debe ser el precio, y qué es lo que deben esperar a cambio. Entonces tomen una decisión. ¿Estás dispuesto a tomar este camino? Puede ser que digas: “Estoy muy cansado.”

Lo único que puedo contestarte es que eso muestra una visión muy corta. Si estás cansado o débil es porque tus fuerzas internas se agotan trabajando en los canales equivocados, de modo que tu fuerza no puede renovarse a sí misma orgánicamente como lo hace en un alma que trabaja bien. Si al menos empezaras y no te dejaras desanimar por las primeras dificultades, al fin de cuentas lograrías poner en orden esa corriente interna. Al hacerlo, liberarías dentro de ti una fuerza vital y una chispa que cambiarán tu vida por completo.

No puedo prometerte que cesarán todos tus problemas, puesto que, para empezar, son una parte necesaria de tu camino, un reto del cual puedes aprender si le haces frente con madurez. Sin embargo, te puedo prometer que después de que hayas reunido ciertas condiciones fundamentales, no volverás a sentirte deprimido por tu vida o por tus dificultades. Te puedo prometer que tu cansancio cesará y que tendrás la fuerza suficiente para pasar por tus dificultades y para soportar tu cruz de la manera correcta, sabiendo por qué y de qué se trata todo esto.

La cosa más difícil para ti y el aspecto más debilitante de tu vida es que no logras ver la razón por la cual suceden las cosas. Esa razón sólo la encontrarás en el camino hacia ti mismo y sólo eso te dará la fuerza que necesitas.
