Queridos papá y mamá,Hace ya tres meses que estoy en la universidad y aún no os he escrito. Siento mucho la demora, pero ahora voy a poneros al corriente de todo. Felizmente la empleada de la lavandería que está enfrente lo vio todo. Fue ella quien llamó a la ambulancia y avisó a los bomberos. Fue también ella quien fue a verme al hospital y como yo no tenía donde ir ya que mi apartamento estaba reducido a cenizas, tuvo la gentileza de invitarme a vivir con ella. Es un cuarto de un sótano, pero es muy agradable. Ella me dobla la edad, pero estamos perdidamente enamorados, y nos queremos casar. Todavía no hemos fijado la fecha de la boda, pero será antes de que su embarazo sea muy evidente. Así pues, querido papá, yo también seré papá. Sé cuánto deseáis ser abuelos y estoy seguro que aceptaran a los bebes (esperamos trillizos) con todo el amor y cariño que me dieron cuando yo era pequeño.

Lo único que está retrasando nuestra boda es una infección que cogió mi novia y que nos impide salir del hospital donde estamos ingresados. Los médicos la llaman sífilis o algo así. Yo también, por descuido, acabe infectándome pero estoy mejor con los antibióticos que me ponen en vena diariamente. Sé que recibiréis a mi mujer con los brazos abiertos y que pronto será una más de la familia, ella es muy amable y aunque no tiene ni los estudios primarios, tiene mucha ambición. Claro que no es de nuestra misma religión, pero sé que vosotros sois tolerantes y sé que tampoco os importará el hecho de que su piel sea más oscura que la nuestra. Estoy seguro que la querréis tanto como yo. Como ella tiene más o menos vuestra edad, estoy seguro de que os llevaréis muy bien y os divertiréis mucho juntos, pues como en el apartamento donde vivimos es muy pequeño, pienso regresar a casa con toda mi nueva familia.

Sus padres también son muy buenas personas, parece que su padre es un traficante de droga muy famoso de la aldea de África de donde ella es... Ahora que ya lo sabéis todo, es preciso que os diga que no hubo incendio ninguno, no tuve traumatismo, ni fractura en el cráneo, no fui al hospital, no tengo novia, no tengo sífilis y no hay ninguna mujer negra en mi vida.
