Con mi título de periodista reciénobtenido,
decidí realizar una gran nota...
- "Pasa"- Me dijoDios.
- "¿Así que querésentrevistarme?
- "Bueno"- Le conteste - "Si tenestiempo..."
Se sonrie por entre la barba y dice:
- "Mi tiempo se llamaeternidad y alcanza para todo;
que preguntasqueréshacerme?"
- "Ningunanuevanidificil para Vos...

¿Quéeslo que más te sorprende de loshombres?"
Y dijo:
- "Que se aburren de ser niños, apurados por crecer,
y luegosuspiran por regresar a ser niños.
Que primeropierdenlasalud para tenerdinero
y enseguidapierdeneldinero para recuperar lasalud.
Que por pensar ansiosamente enel futuro, descuidan
su hora actual, conlo que nivivenel presente ni
vivenel futuro.
Que viven como si no fueran a morirse, y se mueren
como si no hubieran vivido, y pensar que yo..."
Conlosojosllenos de lágrimas y la voz entrecortada
deja de hablar.

Sus manos tomanfuertementelas
mías y seguimos en silencio.
Después de un largo tiempo y para cortar el clima,
ledije:
- "¿Me dejáshacerteotrapregunta?"
No respondióconpalabras sino con una tierna mirada.
- "Como padre, ¿quélespedirías a tushijos para este
nuevomilenio?"
- "Que aprendan que no puedenhacer que alguienlos ame,
lo que sípuedenesdejarse amar.
Que aprendan que toma años construir laconfianza,
y solo segundos destruirla.

Que aprendan que lo más valioso no eslo que tienenensus vidas, sino a quienes.
Que aprendan que no esbuenocompararseconlosdemás, puessiemprehabráalguienmejor y alguienpeor.
Que aprendan que "rico" no esel que más tiene,
sino el que menos necesita.
Que aprendan que deben controlar susactitudes,
o susactitudesloscontrolarán.

Que aprendan que bastan unos pocos segundos
para producirheridas profundas enlaspersonas
que amamos, y que pueden tardar muchosaños
en ser sanadas.
Que aprendan que a perdonar se aprende practicando.
Que aprendan que hay gente que losquieremucho,
pero que simplemente no sabe demostrarlo.
Que aprendan que eldinerolo compra todo menos
lafelicidad.
Que aprendan que a vecescuandoestán molestos
tienenderecho a estarlo,pero eso
no da derecho a molestar a losotros.

Que aprendan que los grandes sueños
no requieren de grandes alas, sino de
untren de aterrizaje para lograrlos.
Que aprendan que los amigos de verdadsonescasos,
que encontrar uno es encontrar unverdaderotesoro.
Que aprendan que no siemprees suficiente
ser perdonado por otros, que
algunasvecesdebenperdonarse a símismos.

Que aprendan que sondueños de lo que callan y
esclavos de lo que dicen.
Que aprendan que de lo que siembran se cosechan.
Que aprendan que laverdaderafelicidad
no es lograr sus metas sino
aprender a ser felízconlo que tienen.
Que aprendan que lafelicidad no escuestión
de suerte sino producto de susdecisiones,
que pueden decidir ser felízconlo que son
y tienen ó morir de envidia y celos por lo
que les falta y carecen.

Que aprendan que dos personaspueden mirar
una misma cosa y ver algo totalmente diferente.
Que aprendan que sin importar lasconsecuencias,
aquellos que son honestos consigo mismos
lleganlejosenla vida.
Que aprendan que a pesar de que piensen
que no tienen nada más que dar,
cuandoun amigo lloraconellos
encuentrenla fortaleza para vencer sus
dolores.
Que aprendan que retener a lafuerza
a laspersonas que aman, lasaleja
rápidamente de ellos y eldejarlas ir
lasdeja para siempre a su lado.

Que aprendan que a pesar de que lapalabra "amor"
puedetenermuchos significados, pierde valor
cuandoes usada enexceso.
Que aprendan que amar y querer
no sonsinónimos sino antónimos,
el querer lo exige todo y el amar lo entrega todo.
Que aprendan que nunca harán nada
tan grande para que Dioslos ame más ni
nada tan malo para que los ame menos.
Simplementelos amo, a pesar de susconductas.
