  • 2. A good way to collect specific information is by making a list. These are the three steps you can follow to make the lists: Step 1 – Make a list of things you love to do Step 2 – Identify the topics you want to write about Step 3 – Use your chosen topic to write another list

Step 1 – For example make a list of things you love to do: dance run cooking CDs Television roller skates reading  singing Step 2 – Identify the topics you want to write about:  CDs    Dancing  reading Step 2 – Identify the topics you want to write about:  CDs    Dancing  reading
  • 4. Dance: Salsa Opera Reggae Rock Merengue Read  Novels  Comics  Sports  Newspapers
  • 5. Too General  I love listening to music in my free time. I enjoy music very much. I listen to music after school and on weekends. I have many CDs and MP3s at home.   • 6. More Specific I love listening to music in my free time. My favorite is pop music. I have every CD by Bruno Mars and Maroon 5. I also have CDs by One Direction and Justin Beaver. I often listen to music in MP3s when I run on the park on Sundays. This really tells us something about the writer This really tells us something about the writer
  • 7. Who? What? Where? When? How? 1 - To practice about specific information chose one article in any newspaper. Read the article very carefully and answer each one of the 5W questions. 2 – Write one paragraph about Who you are, and what do you like to do in your free time. Try to include specific information to make your answer interesting

SimpleSimple CompoundCompound  A simple sentence has one subject and one predicate.  Example: The earth is covered by land and water  A compound sentence is made of two simple sentences joined by a connecting word such as and, but and or. A comma is placed before the connecting word.  Example: One-fourth of the earth is covered by land, and the land is divided into seven continents.
  • 9. 1 – The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world. It covers more area than all the earth’s land put together. 2 – Bodies of salt water that are smaller than oceans are called seas, gulfs, or bays. These bodies of water are often encircled by land. 3 – Seas, gulfs, and bays are joined to the oceans. They vary in size and depth 4 – The Mediterranean is one of the earth’s largest seas. It is almost entirely encircled by the southern part of Europe, the northern of Africa, and the western part of Asia.
  • 10. 1 – In one of the books or magazines you are reading find a composition and identify the opening, body and closing. Please remember that the body is about 90% of the composition or the meat in the hamburger.   2 – Write a short composition about one of the topic you will like to write about 2 – Write a short composition about one of the topic you will like to write about
