  3. 3. Corvette notes FROM OUR FRIENDS 3 Hello Everyone… Wish you all could have been along on our trip to Lake Tahoe we had a ball. On Thursday we left at 8:00 am from Bunker Hill School and headed south to Myrtle Point and had breakfast. From there we drove to Mt. Shasta and had lunch which was interesting Bud noticed some ho- bos beside the cars and he had his top down so the guys moved the cars in front of the restaurant. No damage to the cars at least. From there we moved on down the road to Williams and stayed at Grazella’s. The motel has been remodeled and it was terrific. We ate again at the restraunt in Next morning we left for Lake Tahoe on the way we stopped and shopped at Placerville. Nice stopping place since we would get into Tahoe at 11:30 or so. Again on the road we arrived at the Montbleu Casino and checked in. Everything was terrific we even had a jacuzzi in the rooms, Oh! What fun. Of course we gambled and won and lost as expected. They had about 100 cars and they all were shined and polished and dusted and all the things us guys and gals do to our cars before judging. Of course I helped this time. They had vendors that sold lots of different stuff so we got to shop also. Ed was a little disappointed because there were 6 other 50th anniversary models and he was sure that he stood no chance to earn a prize. We went on the poker run which seemed very short this year and not very scenic but, we saw places we hadn’t seen before which is why they have poker runs. Back to the Casino and of course to a little gambling and of course resting. The banquet had very good speakers both gentlemen had raced cars and told us just what they went thru to get sponsors and training to get on the circuit. There was a video playing of last years cars and winners and of some of the goings on of this year. This was very nice. The awards were finally handed out and Boy was Ed surprised he took a third in his class out of a field of 30. Pretty good huh! Since both the Freeman’s and the Nielsen’s had to be home on Monday we left Lake Tahoe behind and drove home. Had a great time and enjoy- able company. You can’t ask for better. Ed and Pat, Bud and Gail Pat, hide all the corvette catalogs,Ed’s shopping —-1st place below

  7. 7. 7 1. What was the first year the Corvette was officially exported by Chevrolet to Saudi Arabia? 2. What year was the first for an official trailer towing package for the Corvette? 3. Three times Chevrolet set up a paint color/code and only painted 1 Corvette that color all year. When were these three cars produced? 4. What unique feature would you experience if you actually drove the Corvette from the movie "Corvette Summer?" 5. Another feature from 1962 came back on the c-5 corvette rather than the C-6 Corvette. What is it? I've got a few questions about Corvettes just for giggles. 1 How many 1983 Corvettes were built (I know none for the public, but there were some built)? 2 How many 1983 Corvettes are known to survive and where are they? 3 How many 1962 (I think) Corvettes were painted in Cadillac Amherst Pink (I may have the color off, but its a metallic pink Cadillac color)? 4 How many are known to survive and their known locations? 5 What engine powered Zora Arkus Duntov's personal Corvette 6 What year did Corvette first go to test in Germany? 7 What are/were the assembly plants for Corvette's throughout the years? 8 What year did Chevrolet build the 1,000,000th Corvette? 9 Where is that 1,000,000th Corvette currently located?
