  • 2. Steve Wozniak.
    • He designed the first Apple computer.
    • Computers were his hobby.
    • He was always inventing new programs.
    • He went to work for the Hewlett-Packard company.
  • 3. 1970’s
    • Steven Wozniak realized a way to build his own computer.
    • Hewlett-Packard would not give him any chips.
    • A friend gave him the parts he needed to start building it.
  • 4. Creation of his computer.
    • He wanted it to be faster, smaller and more cleverly.
    • He gradually build his computer.
    • Special design.
  • 5. Apple
    • With his friend, Steven Jobs they start a business: Apple.
    • With prices people could afford.
    • In 5 years, the company was valued at a billion dollars.
  • 6. Visicalc.
    • It was a new program.
    • Created by Dan Bricklin.
    • First business program.
    • Tens of thousands of people buying Apple.
  • 7. IBM
    • It was the most powerful computer company until VisiCalc appeared.
    • In 1979, IBM was losing customers to Apple.
    • They realized something need to be done.

    • IBM needed an operating program for the new machine they created.
    • They meet with Bill Gates.
    • He created the IBM PC.
    • Everyone from businesses to people bought the machines.
  • 10. Computer expansion.
    • New computer companies appeared.
    • IBM remained a big, powerful company.
    • By 1980 , computer became common.
    • They began to appear in
    • every area of life.
