4. 4. How they got there name
They get their name not from their skin colour which tends to be olive to grey. they get their name from the blackness inside there mouth when they hiss at you.
5. 5. Habitat
the black mamba has adopted to a variety of climates ranging from Savanna , woodlands , rocky slopes , dense forests and even humid swamps. The grassland and Savanna woodland/shrubs that extend though central eastern and southern Africa are the black mambas typical habitat
6. 6. behaviour
Black mamba uses its speed it get away from its threats but it doesn't use it to hunt its prey.
If the black mamba fails to scare away the attacker it may strike repeatedly. The black mamba is a diurnal snake. Although its scientific name seems to be indicative of tree climbing. The black mamba is rarely an arboreal snake. These snakes retreat when threatened by predators
7. 7. Predators
Mongooses are the main predators of the black mamba. They usually prey on young snakes and eggs. Mongooses are notable for their resistance to snakes toxins. On the account of the Mongooses resistance to the snakes venom, adult Mambas have trouble fighting of the mongooses. Although Mongooses tend to go for the littler one so the can be killed with ease.
