Importing Ref Works Data

  2. 2. MUC’s Catalog<br />Also applies if searching OhioLINK Catalogs directly.<br />To Manually Save and Export Records:<br />1. Conduct a search and mark and add your selections to a list. <br />
  3. 3. 2. Click on the “View List” icon at the top.<br />
  4. 4. 3. Select the records you would like to export and click the icon, “Export List”.<br />
  5. 5. 4. On the left side of the page, select “End-Note/Refworks” and on the right side, select “local disk” and click submit.<br />
  6. 6. 5. The next screen, with the File Download option, allows you to Open or Save a file named export.txt. Select the location where you want to save the file.<br />6. Click Save and the screen will inform you that the download is complete.<br />
  7. 7. 7. Log in to RefWorks. (from the Library’s Quick Links). <br />
  8. 8. 8. Under the References tab select Import from the toolbar.<br />
  9. 9. 9. Select Innovative Interfaces (Endnote/Refworks) as the filter and Endnote/Refworks as the Database.<br />
  10. 10. 10. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer.<br />11. Click Import.<br />
  11. 11. 12. Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder.<br />
