• If you want the decision-makers in your institution to help themselves, you need a front-end of some sort to the databases used by Banner. Dickinson isn’t alone in it’s need for enterprise-wide information. All institutions should base their decisions on facts: VP, Treasurer – strategic, directors – tactical, analysts – day-to-day transactions Timely and consistent data: this solution is comprehensive User friendly: point & click for users Robust and customizable: 5 or 500 users >> We can easily customize our FOAPAL and structure rollup accounts (on a Treasurer’s report, for example) to meet the different needs of campus administrators
• Metadata is the same regardless of delivery method: queries, reports, multi-multi-dimensional cubes, or scorecards Web based application that users are already familiar with
• Wide variety of users with varying reporting and analysis needs. VP, Treasurer – weekly Treasurer’s reports on Current Operations vs budget; monthly P&L’s on Auxiliary divisions Associate VP - weekly Treasurer’s reports and daily fin stmts during FY close Director of Planning and Budget – weekly T-reports, P&L’s, budget prep reports, multi-dimensional cube reports, fin stmts, and many other ad-hoc requests Director of Int’l and Grant Accounting – weekly T-reports, multi-dimensional cube reports, fin stmts, and other ad-hoc requests Financial Controller, Assistant Controller – weekly T-reports, fin stmts, and other ad-hoc requests Bursar and AR office staff – FOAPAL reports, account activity by detail code, term; accounts with holds, cash/deposit recon, several other audit/recon reports HR and Payroll staff – 50+ reports on everything from performance reviews due to daily termination to leave time to benefit related additions and changes. Payroll has an abundance of reports from real-time payroll processing edit check (audit) to historical payroll info. Position Control reporting just rolled out last month and I hope to be doing a presentation on it at Summit 2008. Dir of Stud Empl – historical and real-time reporting on student jobs and their associated earnings
