    Ideal IMS Cluster Configuration
    Intel Modular Server
    > Compute Modules (incl. NIC 0 & 1):
    > Dual Intel Xeon Processors
    > 1x QR DIMM/Channel (3 Ch/CPU)
    > NICs 2 & 3 Mezzanine Card
    > Full Power Supply Compliment
    > Storage (think SAN layout):
    > RAID 1 Pair for H-V & Memory CSV
    > RAID 10 (4+ SG) for VM OS
    > RAID 1, 10, or 5 for VM Data Storage
    > I/O Modules:
    > Second Ethernet Switch Module
    > Required for NICs 2 & 3
    > Second Storage Controller Module
    > Post Hardware Configuration:
    > Update the CMM to the newest firmware.

Four Phase Install – One & Two
Approach: New AD or Replacing Existing AD
    > AD domain required to create the cluster (Clean AD too).
Phase 1: Intel Modular Server Setup for Clustering
    > Configure the initial Storage Group.
    > Configure Virtual Disks for Hyper-V OS and Assign to Nodes.
    > Subsequent Storage Groups and Virtual Disks created later.
    > Configure VLAN for Cluster Heartbeat N/W.
    Phase 2: Standalone Server Setup
    > Install Windows Server 2008 RTM/R2.
    > Hyper-V Role + Updates.
    > Hyper-V Switch binding + NIC Binding Order.
    > SBS 2008 via Answer File or PDCe as VM Guest.
    > Note the VHD size for later SG/VD placement.
    > VHDTool for creating fixed size VHDs _fast_.

Four Phase Install – Three & Four
    Phase 3: Compute Module – Hyper-V Nodes
    > Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 OS install
    > NICs 0 & 1 Subnet configuration
    > NIC Binding Order
    > Remote management enabled etc.
    Phase 4: Cluster Creation
    > Set up Virtual Disks and Assign.
    > Use Node 1 to initialize partition, format, and set offline.
    > On Standalone or Windows 7 using RSAT & FCM.
    > Run Cluster Validation Wizard.
    > Enable CSV & add storage.
    Post Cluster Creation
    > Custom MMC on Standalone and/or Windows 7 Management VM.
    > Create a Highly Available VM (Windows 7 works well).
    > Test Live Migrate the VM.
    > Transfer SBS/PDCe to cluster.
