trusted pedigree of delivering high integrity cyber solutions to
Government
• proven cyber defence assessment capability, CMIA®. Government
considers this capability to be unique and MOD has made £4M+ of
investment in the concept so far, along with substantial internal RJD
investment
• circa 45 staff and is based near Petersfield:
• list X
• ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 27001:2013 &Cyber Essentials
• registered on JOSCAR
• active in ADS, techUK, EW SME WG

3. APPLE:
Autonomous Platform Protection with
Learning Environment
Built on existing Dstl and RJD investment in Cyber
Mission Impact Assessment (CMIA®) situational
awareness tool to prove the concept of a dynamic, real
time monitoring of enterprises with respect to their
mission objectives and protective reactions to cyber
events.

4. Success to date
• proof-of-concept successful
• demonstrated principle that addition of adaptive
learning algorithms (machine learning) to the core
CMIA® situational awareness capability provides an
intelligent automated course of action to incoming
cyber-attacks

5. What next?
• develop full prototype
• future impact would be a first-of-type, mission
focussed and reactive tool, to roll out across a
multitude of Dstl and front line command (FLC)
cyber models - adding a live element to the
established Cyber Vulnerability Investigation (CVI)
process
Note: APPLE is clearly not an acceptable long term name due to another
rather large company of the same name! APPLE has therefore been renamed
CyberTOOTH®.

6. We’re looking for…
• partner for further development of automated
cyber response tool – MoD or Industry
• tool to be developed to:
 reduce the operator load of manual cyber security
interventions
 increase the tempo of cyber responses
