  2. 2. English Syllabus<br />WES1.9 Engages in writing texts with the intention of conveying an idea or message.<br />RECAP: In a previous lesson, students have read a non-fiction book about dogs. We discussed about what a dog needs in order to live?<br />RESOURCES: Flash cards of the different elements dogs need to live. <br />
  3. 3. Warm-up Activity<br />Question: Can you name your morning routine before coming to school? When you got out of bed you…<br />(Prior knowledge will be used to scaffold the development of the writing task.)<br />

  8. 8. Hygiene (bath, brushing teeth, etc.) </li></li></ul><li>Dogs<br />RECAP:Based on the non-fiction book, Dogs. Just like us, dog share some basic needs in order to live too.<br />QUESTION: What do dogs need to live? (Use flash card resources to reinforce the elements spoken about earlier)<br />Food (Eat) <br />Sleep (Rest)<br />Water (Drink)<br />Exercise (Healthy body)<br />Grooming <br />

  10. 10. Model/Guided Writing<br />Teacher will model/guided writing task, use the topic of dogs as a stimulus and discuss the elements of what dogs need. Student participation will help them with the writing task.<br />RECAP: The use of,<br /><ul><li>Capital letters

Finger space</li></li></ul><li>Activity<br />Workbook Activity:<br />In your workbook, write you own sentence about a dog or a pet and use the keywords to write your sentence (water, drink, food, eat, sleep, exercise). <br />NOTE: Early finishers, please draw a picture under your sentence.<br />
  14. 14. Class Appreciation<br /> Students from each table will get a chance to share their work to the class. <br />QUESTIONING: Students will be asked to identify the elements discussed in class. To identify the keywords will demonstrate the students learning. <br />
