  11. 11. Application information is collected and distributed to each member school you listed on the application. Step 1: Admissions decision are made and communicated by each school you listed on the application. Step 2: After school admissions decisions are made, you will be evaluated for membership to the Consortium by each school. Step 3: Applicants who are admitted to the individual schools AND admitted to the Consortium as a member will then be considered for fellowships. Fellowships are awarded by the school and communicated to the applicant by the Consortium. The Consortium Application
  12. 12. 1. Not admitted to school which results in no evaluation for membership or fellowship award 2. Admitted to school, but NOT granted membership, therefore, not considered for fellowship award Applicant CAN, however, choose to attend school without Consortium fellowship 3. Admitted to school, granted membership, but NOT awarded Consortium fellowship. Since applicant was admitted and granted membership, they are eligible to take full advantage of other Consortium benefits (i.e., Orientation Program (OP), alumni network and corporate network, etc…) 4. Admitted to school, granted membership, and awarded fellowship. Various outcomes in application process

Membership FAQ <ul><li>How is membership status decided? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Essay explaining commitment to The Consortium’s mission </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Letter of recommendation commenting on commitment to The Consortium/s mission </li></ul></ul><ul><li>What is expected of a Consortium member while in school and after graduation? </li></ul>

Points to Remember <ul><li>You must be granted admission in order to be considered for Consortium membership . </li></ul><ul><li>You must be a granted membership to the Consortium in order to be considered for a fellowship . </li></ul><ul><li>How you rank the schools in your application determines the order in which schools are able to offer you the fellowship . School #1 has the 1st opportunity to award you the fellowship (should you be admitted to that school). If you are not admitted to School #1 or they choose not to offer you a fellowship, School #2 is then eligible to award you the fellowship. </li></ul><ul><li>Fellowship awards are not transferable to another Consortium School </li></ul><ul><li>You should be just as comfortable in attending your 6 th ranked school as you are in attending your 1 st ranked school. </li></ul>
