  • 5. COVETOUSNESS
    • EZEKIEL 28:18
    • Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
    • WHAT HAPPENED AS A RESULT OF LUCIFER’S DEFILEMENT OF GOD’S HEAVENLY SANCTUARIES?
  • 6. EZEKIEL 28:16
    • By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub , from the midst of the stones of fire.
  • 7. LUCIFER’S DEFILEMENT: GOD’S EARTHLY SANCTUARY
    • The Lord knew that Adam could not be happy without labor, therefore He gave him the pleasant employment of dressing the garden. And as he tended the things of beauty and usefulness around him, he could behold the goodness and glory of God in His created works. Adam had themes for contemplation in the works of God in Eden, which was heaven in miniature . {BE LIKE JESUS 229.5}

    • WHAT DOES BEGUILED MEAN?
  • 10. SOURCE: NOAH’S DICTIONARY [1828]
    • To delude ; to deceive ; to impose on by artifice or craft .
    • 1. To elude by craft.
    • Misery could beguile the tyrants rage.
    • 2. To elude any thing disagreeable by amusement , or other means ; to pass pleasingly ; to amuse; as, to beguile the tedious day with sleep.
  • 11. BY WHAT MEANS WERE OUR PATRIARCHAL PARENTS BEGUILED?
    • (GENESIS 3:1-6.) Satan Powerless to Hypnotize Christ
    • Satan tempted the first Adam in Eden, and Adam reasoned with the enemy, thus giving him the advantage. Satan exercised his power of hypnotism over Adam and Eve , and this power he strove to exercise over Christ . But after the word of Scripture was quoted, Satan knew that he had no chance of triumphing (Letter 159, 1903). {5BC-- SDA BIBLE COMMENTARY , VOL. 5, p.1081}

    • MATTHEW 1:23

  • 17. PERSONA NON GRATA
      • GOD DROVE ADAM AND EVE OUT OF THEIR SANCTUARY HOME BECAUSE THEY SUCCUMBED TO THE SERPENT’S LIE. WHILE JEWS [BELIEVERS] THRUST CHRIST OUT OF THE SYNAGOGUE BECAUSE HE SPOKE THE TRUTH.
      • LUKE 4:28, 29
        • And all they in the synagogue , when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city , and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong .
  • 18. WHY DID THIS HAPPENED?
    • But although the Pharisees thought so highly of themselves, they were really in a worse condition than the ones they despised. They next sought out the disciples of John the Baptist , and tried to set them against the Saviour . Because he denounced their hypocrisy , they had resisted his words, and had tried to stir up the people against him. Now when Jesus came mingling with the people, eating and drinking at their tables, they accused Him of being a glutton and a winebibber. The very ones who made this charge were themselves guilty. As God is misrepresented, and clothed by Satan with his own attributes , so the Lord's messengers were falsified by these wicked men . {DESIRE OF AGES 276.1}

    • COMMUNION/DWELLING/PREACHING/STANDING
    • What is our condition in this fearful and solemn time? Alas, what pride is prevailing in the church, what hypocrisy , what deception , what love of dress , frivolity , and amusement , what desire for the supremacy ! All these sins have clouded the mind, so that eternal things have not been discerned .
