Why should REALTORs use facebook?
Facebook is the internet’s biggest social network – with over 300,000,000 users
Today’s REALTORs realize they need to use facebook to connect with their clients as well as make new contacts.
Where to start
Friend people you know – NOT complete strangers. Facebook is a “social” network
You can add friends as you go along – friends of your friends and people you meet along the way. – but start with the people you know
Search for names, e-mail addresses, old classmates, work colleagues etc.
When you send a friend request, write something – don’t just send a blank friend request.
Should you friend other Realtors?
Need to use your own judgment here
If you treat it like “real life” socializing, maybe you can “friend” other Realtors that you like and trust
You may not want to expose your friend list to other Realtors, especially if you use facebook to connect with your clients
Commenting
Oh – So Important
Whenever you comment on something it populates your home feed and your friend’s see what you’ve commented on.
As a REALTOR you should be commenting on smart articles posted about your industry as well as local news and events. You should only comment if you have something smart to say.
Don’t be a “lurker”. Check on your friends often. Comment about their posts – they will appreciate it – It shows you care to take the time to read their posts. Human interaction and feedback.
SHARING
Post Interesting things
A recipe, a good restaurant, a good wine you just tasted, a “tech tool” you have tried, a quote or words of inspiration
We live in a “social” world – today’s consumers like to know “who” they are working with – who are they? Will they like them?
Be yourself, but BE TASTEFUL.
You should post often
so your profile page is refreshed with new things
So “friends” remember who you are when they need your services.
Posting Listings
Be careful here – should only be about 5% of your facebook postings -
