  1. 1. Example of an Element ● This aluminum foil is an element because it is made of the element aluminum.
  2. 2. Example of a Compound ● Salt is a compound because it is made up of more than one atom. ● Salt is made out of two elements which are sodium and chlorine. (NaCl)
  3. 3. Compound ● Water is a compound because it is made up of two elements which are hydrogen and oxygen. (H2O)
  4. 4. Example of a Mixture ● Lemonade is a mixture because it was mixed with lemon, water, and sugar. ● A mixture is two properties combining without a new chemical forming.
  5. 5. Mixture ● Salt water is a mixture because water and salt are mixed in and there aren't any new chemicals.
  6. 6. Mixture ● Sugar water is also a mixture because it is made up of only sugar and water.
  7. 7. Example of a Homogenous mixture  This glass of milk is an example of a homogenous mix- ture because it is the same from top and bottom.
  8. 8. Homogenous mixture  Lotion is a homo- genous mixture be- cause there are no layers or different parts of this mix- ture.
  9. 9. Example of a Heterogeneous Mixture ● This cereal is a heterogeneous mixture because it has many layers of cereal and milk.
  10. 10. Heterogeneous Mixture ● This pizza is a heterogeneous mixture because this has many layers of pepperoni, cheese, sauce, and the crust.
