  • 1. Kellogg’s- A brand
  • 2. What products do they make
Kellogg's started in the 1800s and the main cereal known as cornflakes was accidently created. Since then they have made 100’s of new leading breakfast cereals. they also branched into the snack market by creating snack products.
  • 3. How are the products presented?
The products are all presented as a healthy option. As many people are aware of the special K challenge where they claim their customers can loose wait and drop a dress size by eating Kellogg’s cornflakes.
  • 4. Brand Extension
Kellogg’s have extended their brand by creating a whole new range of products. They now have cereal bars, lunch box snacks and breakfast alternatives.
  • 5. Controversies
Kellogg's was shipping boxes of children's' breakfast cereal with Spiderman toys containing mercury batteries. I pointed out the insanity of including a highly toxic heavy metal (mercury) in boxes of cereal, not just for the health danger to children, but also the impact on the environment. But Kellogg's wouldn't budge: they wanted to leave the toys in the cereal except where it was illegal to do so.
  • 6. Have Kellogg’s created a brand?
I think Kellogg’s have created a superb family brand as they have a product which can attract at least one member of each family as they have weight loss product in special K to possibly the most unhealthiest breakfast product ever to touch a toaster, Pop tarts.
