WATERLOO ROAD -British television drama series -first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC One -The series focuses on the lives of the school's teachers and students, and confronts social issues such as extramarital affairs, abortion, divorce Child abuse, and suicide. -Waterloo Road is produced by Shed Productions - Aimed at 15-25 year olds - Waterloo Road is shown on TV and iPlayer an example of cross platform marketing as younger viewers use the internet on a regular basis making it easily accessable. - isode_23/

EASTENDERS -EastEnders is a British television soap opera, first broadcast in the United Kingdom, on BBC One. -EastEnders storylines examine the domestic and professional lives of the people who live and work in the fictional London Borough of Walford in the East End of London. -The series was originally screened as two half-hour episodes per week. -Created by Julia Smith Tony Holland -Running time 30 minutes -Aimed at 15-40 year olds

EASTENDERS – E20 -EastEnders: E20 is a British Internet soap opera different to typical soap operas, which began airing on 8 January 2010. -A spin-off from the established BBC soap EastEnders, it’s set in EastEnders. Each series follows a group of teenage characters, created in a bid to develop and nurture new talent, including writers, actors, composers and remixers, and target a younger audience. It was an attempt to drive more people onto the Internet and to improve the portrayal of teenagers in EastEnders also to get younger people writing for it. This is mainly aimed at under 20’s as they are looking for young script writers. By marketing online this became successful as BBC are keeping up to date with the 20th century. CORONATION STREET -Coronation Street is a British television soap opera first broadcast on Granada Television in 1960. -The programme concerns the lives of the residents of Coronation Street in Weatherfield, a fictional town based on Salford, and centres around its terraced houses, a cafe, corner shop, newsagents, textile factory and the Rovers Return public house. -Coronation Street is noted for its depiction of a down-to-earth working class community combined with light-hearted humour and strong characters which many people can relate to. -It has been one of the most financially lucrative programmes on British commercial television. -Coronation Street is produced by Granada Television and created by Tony Warren and shown on ITV. -Aimed at an older audience but it features adults that appeal to a younger target audience.

HOLLYOAKS -Hollyoaks is a long-running British television soap opera, first broadcast on Channel 4. -The programme is set in a fictional suburb of Chester called Hollyoaks, and features a large cast of characters primarily aged between 16 and 35 which is also its target audience. -Hollyoaks had developed a substantial fan base and was seen as a vibrant, modern and young person's soap. -Hollyoaks is produced by Lime Pictures. - You can also watch hollyoaks online on 4od.

HOLLYOAKS LATER -Hollyoaks Later (originally Late Night Hollyoaks[1]) is a British television spin-off of the Channel 4 television series Hollyoaks. -The series began in 2008 and has become an annual event for the soap. -The series returns every September and takes place over five consecutive nights on E4. -Hollyoaks later is a late night series allowing more sexual content, ' edgier ' storylines and stronger language.
  7. 7. NEIGHBOURS- AUSTRALIAN SOAP Neighbours is an Australian television soap opera. Neighbours has become the longest running drama series in Australian television. Created by Reg Watson, who had the idea of making a show that focused on realistic stories and portrayed adults and teenagers who talk openly and solve their problems together. The show's storylines concern the domestic and professional lives of the people who live and work in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne Through its entire run in Australia, Neighbours has been screened as a twenty-two minute episode each week night in an early-evening slot. In Australia it is currently broadcast each weeknight at 6:30 pm on Eleven as like Hollyoaks Both Neighbours and Hollyoaks are extremely similar.
  8. 8. DAYS OF OUR LIVES- AMERICAN SOAP Days of our Lives is a daytime soap and is one of the longest-running scripted television programs in the world. Airing week days in the United States. Due to popular demand it expanded from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. The series focuses on its core families, the Hortons and the Bradys. Also several other families have been added to the cast.
