SmokePing and Cacti <ul><li>In this example, we will combine SmokePing and Cacti to show how we can use both tools to drill into a problem </li></ul><ul><li>Neither one by itself can give us all the answers, but by using them together, we can get a good picture of what is going on </li></ul>
  4. 4. SmokePing <ul><li>Looking at the 30 hour view, we see a spike in Ping response times </li></ul><ul><li>Is this an Internet problem, local problem, remote problem? </li></ul>
  5. 5. SmokePing <ul><li>We will drill into the SmokePing graph to find the exact time we were seeing the problem </li></ul><ul><li>Here it is between 7am and 10am </li></ul>
