3. Instructions for Written Assignment
You are a business analyst for a China-based international joint-venture
manufacturer who wants to export knocked-down easy-to-assemble (four-
seat) electric cars to China. But the name of the company is not revealed
for obvious reasons.
You intend to sell not only electric cars to China, more or less in response
to growing environmental consciousness, but you could be exporting
probably sensitive high-technology electric engine into China.
Therefore, it is the interest of this foreign company to find out strategic
information about the environmental factors of the electric car industry
since has heard about China’s serious move towards natural environment
protection.
The company took notice about the recent air pollution problem in Beijing
and felt there was good opportunity to break into the Chinese market with
its ultra compact electric car.
Your have been instructed to write a 2000-word environmental factors
analysis report paper that encompasses the structure shown at page 3.
You can approach this analysis in one of two ways shown in (a) and (b).
(a) Based on real electric car company in China (can be
local or foreign)
(b) Based on the assumption of no electric cars in China
(new product)
The most interesting and valuable part of this assignment is the “Major
problems and solution . . .” which is allotted a maximum of 20% of the
total marks. This part will reflect the value of a business analyst.
There should also be reference list based on the Harvard Referencing
System. This is vital because the paper will be sectioned and the sections
farmed out to other experts for detailed analysis.
