  • 1. Regeneration Committee Croydon site visit 13 February 2014
  • 2. London Assembly Regeneration Committee visited areas in Croydon to examine how the Mayor’s Regeneration Fund (MRF) is being used to regenerate the community after the civil disturbances in 2011. The Committee met with Croydon Council members, residents and business owners to discuss what difference the funding will make in rebuilding the town financially but also how regeneration activities are fostering community pride and engagement.
  • 3. London Assembly Members, Trevor Reeves and Councillor Perry visited the House of Reeves furniture store; one of the worst hit sites during the London riots.
  • 4. (Left to right) Steve O’Connell AM, Councillor Jason Perry, Gareth Bacon AM and Trevor Reeves visiting the previous site of the House of Reeves furniture store, currently being used as a temporary nursery to grow trees which will be planted around Croydon town centre.
  • 5. Walk through Surrey Street Market.
  • 6. Gareth Bacon AM and Debbie Jackson, GLA discuss regeneration plans on London Road, a street impacted by the 2011 riots.
  • 7. London Assembly Members, GLA staff and Croydon Council Members meet with local residents outside the Croydon Voluntary Action Enterprise Hub.
  • 8. Tim Naylor, Croydon Council presents Croydon’s regeneration plans and how the MRF will be used to deliver key projects.
  • 9. Gareth Bacon AM with Councillor Jason Perry on the West Croydon mall discussing plans for the new shopping centre development.
  • 10. New thoroughfare from the East Croydon station which connects to Landsdowne Road, built to enhance foot traffic into West Croydon and link East and West Croydon more effectively.
