  • 3. Weaving is one ofthe oldest Lithuanian folk arts.
  • 4. Almost everything was woven: from ordinary bedspreads to stunning items of Lithuanian costume.
  • 5. It was stronglybelieved that woven materials reflect persons mentality.
  • 6. Woven sashes are one of the oldest, most widespread and multicolouredLithuanian folk textiles.
  • 7. Black pottery Black pottery
  • 8. Black pottery is one of themost widespread handicrafts in Lithuania.
  • 9. In XVIII century this ceramic type was widely popular in Dzūkija.
  • 10. All of this pottery is black coloured, it sounds like a bell and is as firm as metal.
  • 11. Cross crafting
  • 12. Lithuanian cross crafting is a traditional Lithuanian art of crafting crosses.
  • 13. The crosses combine elements ofarchitecture, sculpture, blacksmith art and painting.
  • 14. They often feature floral orgeometric symbols, motifs of the sun, birds and the tree of life.
  • 15. Lithuanian cross crafting has been enrolled into the list of Masterpieces of the Oral andIntangible Heritage of Humanity of 2001 by UNESCO.
  • 16. Hill of Crosses is a sight ofpilgrimage near the city of Šiauliai, in northern Lithuania.
  • 17. Roadside pole with a statuette of asaint and roadside pole with a roof both are sacralic monuments.
  • 18. Roadside pole with a roof were also widespread in Lithuania.
  • 19. Roadside pole with a statuette of asaint is a type of folk architecture.
