  • Clearing : This is the old workspace….the office desktop. This is a workspace that’s driven by and determined by the enterprise: One location, one set of provisioned and un-customizable business applications, one standard set of devices, running behind a firewall, on an enterprise network . While we all still spend some of our time in this paradigm, I think we can safely say that none of us conduct all of our work in it. Transition: The workspace as we know it has fundamentally changed.
  • Clearing : Whether on premise, on demand, managed or hosted, we can deliver UC via the business model that best suits your customers’ business needs….giving them the ability to choose, based on business priorities. There are a number of different ways you can deliver communications solutions to customers today. You can sell them, host them, offer them as managed services, or offer them as software as a service. Each of these opportunities has limitations when considered in isolation—they aren’t easily scaled, systems can remain isolated, and you miss the opportunity to sell higher value and complementary services. It is part of the reason that we are moving away from the thick client model where integration and service delivery happens at the network edge. Instead we’re moving services to the network core—recognizing that those services can be provided on demand or on premises and the opportunity for our partners is to build applications and services models that leverage this shift. Transition : The beauty of this is that with Cisco, you can build new routes to market and expand your business well beyond that $36B opportunity.
