  • 2. Introduction There are many ways to make a quick income online, but none of them is easier to implement, and as hassle-free as writing content – articles, website content, reviews. All the other methods require lots of knowhow and money, for example internet marketing and information product creation. There is money though, lots of it, to be made writing online! In this report you will learn how you can tap into the insatiable demand for written content on the internet so that you can:  Earn quick emergency cash, or a side income  Turn your writing skills into a long-term service  Write a book or books for Kindle for a nice passive income If you read this report and ACT ON IT you have at your disposal all the information you need to start or jumpstart your article writing career online for a piece of the action. You do not need to be a very skilled writer to make a living writing content online, only determination and the will to succeed. There are many Kindle success stories for instance, including work at home moms and students who started small, wrote a book or a blog for fun, and hit it BIG. Start out writing articles and it will be a short step to publishing on Kindle. I hope you find this short guide useful on your quest to earn your first $1,000 online. Let’s get started! 2
  • 3. Article writing opportunities Written content – or you can call it text – drives the Internet. Video and audio content is getting more and more popular, but for the foreseeable future text will remain the No.1 format for information online. And it sells big time! There is a huge demand for information on the Internet. Starting from when you type a keyword in Google to search for information, you normally start by typing words, or text, in the search engine and because of this fact all websites, be it video and sound hosting sites like YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, iTunes, etc, necessarily have to have text on their websites that the search engines can use to find the other content on these sites. This is where you can come in as a content writer, providing the content to website owners, internet marketers, offline businesses, you name it; people in need of content in the form of search engine optimized articles, web content, product reviews, etc to generate traffic for their web properties. All of this may sound obvious and commonplace to some , but before I go any further here is a testimonial to prove to you my earlier claim that there is easy, quick cash to be made writing content online: “I worked as a freelance writer for a while when I first started online and I was lucky enough to be paid $50 an article almost from the beginning… I applied for some writing jobs I came across on Craigslist. They knew the value of quality content and were actually apologetic that they couldn't afford to pay more than $50 per 500 word article. The quality of my writing was no better than it would be if I were writing for just $5 an article but I was making $150 a day (while 3
  • 4. still working in my day job). I doubt it's easy finding clients that will pay $50 an article, but it's definitely possible… A friend of mine got writing work through an ad in a local newspaper” Here is the link to the post in the thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-internet-marketing-discussionforum/585864-iwriter-alternatives.html#post7323180 As you might have found out if you read this thread the best ways to earn an income online as a writer include finding reliable clients and a long-term contract, or writing information products, or ebooks. But that is a topic for another report. For now we are looking at ways to earn fast cash through writing articles (content) for the web. A quick recap and disclaimer: I’m not suggesting you will make loads of cash writing online in a very short time, but there is money to be made if you have writing talent – fortunately you don’t need lots of talent. We are looking at ways you can earn money to tide you over tough times. Maybe you just got laid off work, or you are looking for ways to supplement your income by making money online, or you want some assured income while you set up another internet income source. The testimonial given above is not a typical situation, but let’s just scale it down a bit to see what you can realistically expect to earn writing online: If you can write 6 articles per day for $25 = $150 6 articles a day for $15 = $90 6 articles for $7 = $42 4
  • 5. 6 articles for $5 = $30 So, how much you can expect to earn will largely depend on how much effort you are willing to put into it, in terms of writing the content and your marketing effort – finding the right clients, I mean. With that said, here are some of the ways you can earn a quick income as a writer online. Ways to earn fast cash online as a writer Even as a content writer there are many different ways to earn money online:         Article writing Micro-jobs Copywriting Ghostwriting Web content writing Reviews Kindle And more The distinctions are really minor and if you can write articles you should be able to quickly progress into web content or copywriting for example, or writing product reviews. All the information you need to develop any extra skills you need is readily available online. In this short report I’m going to focus only on article writing and writing for Kindle Shortcuts for Article Writing 5
  • 6. That article I referred to earlier on the warrior forum, or rather the one by Warrior Parker Arrow at This Link had a lot of useful advice for anyone starting out in article writing and I’m going to reproduce it here. He’s talking about starting out as a newbie, where to begin… “I'm going to (hopefully) give you a few shortcuts here: “You might try Textbroker before iWriter or Fiverr. The system is easier and more consistent. Much less risk and irregularity than freelancing and hitting all the bear traps. You start out at your fair level, you don't have to start at the lowest tier and work your way up. Don't let the rates fool you - you can develop from a beginner to a professional there. Study AP style. Study Textbroker's AP Style You'll learn what you need to know about writing for the Web at TB. Try to write 500 words an hour and then bring it up to 1000 words an hour while keeping your grammar on the mark. Do yourself a favor and use simple sentences. Don't mess with commas and compound sentences until you've mastered Comma Fu. Applying the spirit of a law takes stylistic interpretation; content broker editors tend to work by the letter of the law. Channel your 8th grade grammar teacher and write every sentence as if it's on the chalkboard. For private freelancing: If you don't have a portfolio, go to clippings.me and post sample articles there for free. You can use a Google Shared Document like the one in the "Textbroker's AP Style" link above. Just remember to set the document to "Share with anyone with a link." Now that you have samples up, don't write free "Demo" articles for clients who promise "lots of work" if you're "good enough." They may just take your demo and spin it, and you wasted your time and got ripped off. Real clients don't expect something for nothing. (Here's another hint: the lowest-paying clients make the most unreasonable demands. You're better off without them). When freelancing 6
  • 7. get 100% payment up front. Assure quality by offering revision until the client is satisfied. No refunds. Use your payment terms, not the client's. You're a partner, not an employee or dependent. You'll probably want to use PayPal. Yes, this will weed out clients. They are clients you probably are better off without! Understand differences of content requirements. Work according to your hourly income needs - not what value clients assign to their projects and your time. Clients may want 7 revisions for a $7 article. You're not a community service. Starting out, you might take an hour for research and another hour to write. This is too long. Most articles should come in under one hour. Time each article and you'll discover how to improve your efficiency. For example, consider this rate chart: .01 /word - $5 for a 500 word article: SEO writing - about 30 minutes TOTAL (Practice getting it down to 15 minutes) .03/word - $15 for a 500 word article: Authorial writing - about 45 minutes TOTAL (Practice getting it down to 25 minutes) .05/word - $25 for a 500 word article: Pro writing - about an hour TOTAL (Practice getting it down to 40 minutes) .10+/word - $50+ for a 500 word article: Premium writing. Write until the article's legs reach the ground (Practice getting it down to 60 minutes) Clients may demand the last option's quality at the first option's rate. Ignore those orders. You just keep this little chart in mind and take on jobs that you can fit into these slots. Protect your hourly income because no one else will do it for you. Start with that and you'll find yourself still in business tomorrow. 7
  • 8. Don't limit yourself to writing what you know. Write what you can find content on quickly. You can write about anything under the sun when the article payoff fits your time requirement. Good luck! ” Conclusion: Like the guy said, if you can string sentences together, add in a bit of research and you can write about any topic. Working as a content writer, you will get lots of topics or keywords thrown at you, stuff you know nothing about. But not to worry; you have a friend in good old Google! Google has all the information you need to write a good article on anything. Nobody will be asking you to write a dissertation or a PhD thesis, just 500 to 2,000 word articles. Just get in there and starting earning money. And, oh, before I leave I should note here that the Warrior Forum’s “Warriors for Hire” section is a great place to find writing jobs when you get more experienced. You need to join the forum first, though. For writing your articles, if you are just beginning, take a look at these article templates to see how to structure and write a good article: http://blog.ezinearticles.com/2012/09/top-10-article-templates.html http://blog.ezinearticles.com/category/article-templates Here is a list of freelancing websites you can join and start bidding for jobs in minutes: http://iwriter.com http://www.elance.com http://www.odesk.com/jobs 8

There is no bidding for jobs, which puts it in a class apart among freelancing websites. With iWriter you just need to sign up, find whatever article writing jobs are available, claim one of these articles and start writing. You will normally be given between 1 and half to 3 hours to do the article. If for some reason you fail to complete the article in time it goes back in the pool, to be finished by another writer. The downside with iWriter is that sometimes the work available is limited, plus, the pay is bad if you are just starting on the site (about $3 for a 500 word article), what they call Standard writer. There are three classes at iWriter: Standard, Elite, and Premium. Premium writers can get to earn as much as $15 for a 500 word article. Good money!  To make good use of iWriter you need to put in effort in the beginning at the low pay rate and ensure you complete the first 30 articles fast, at which point you become elite class. Oh, if you can pay the upgrade fee 10
  • 11. of about $150 you will be promoted to premium class right away! No need then to do the grind in Standard class  Article writing: How to scale up To scale up your article writing services online the best way to go is to work with the big service providers, including SEO agencies, marketing consultants, email and social media marketing services, internet marketing consultants, and website building services, or local SEO companies. These need your services mostly for building and boosting their client’s websites in the search engines. If you succeed and find one of these companies to write content for, you will be assured of long-term income. Take a look at this screenshot of my account at Elance.com. 11
  • 12. This was just one of several long-running projects (jobs) I had with an SEO/Website-building company, lasting over several months; total earnings, above $7,000. For brevity I have only shown 7 out of 59 milestones. These kind of contracts mean are a big relief and you want to be on the lookout for them. Bidding on popular freelancing sites like Elance.com you can get lucky and land a good contract like this, but it is rare. Here is a more sure-fire way how to find big clients. It’s a bit hit and miss, but you have many more options. Just keep working at it. You only need to get lucky once or twice. Visit these two directories for contacts of these agencies we talked about, in your local area, or international; then email your prospects with a proposal. I have included a sample proposal at the end: 1. GetListed.org 2. TopSEOs.com Navigate to here: Vendor Directory  Services and select category NOTE: You only need to have one or two well-paying clients to make a living writing online. Here is that sample proposal, or email pitch: 12

If you have a romantic bone in your body, give it a try; write a romance for Kindle! You may also compile a list of well-researched articles you have written yourself, focused on a narrow topic that addresses people’s needs or concerns, compile it into a book and publish it on Kindle. Here is a list of the most marketable topics on Kindle: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Romance fiction (so many sub-genres) Self-help/self-improvement Health & Fitness Diets & Dieting Personal organization (how to organize your life) Home decoration/organization Cookbooks & recipes Dog-related books Books about simplifying your life In this short report we cannot go in depth about how to write an ebook and publishing on Kindle, but the opportunities are endless and VERY inviting. It is another way you can scale up with your writing skills, and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by yours truly  With Kindle you can get to target tens of thousands or millions of readers, whatever the topic or niche you want to write in. 14
  • 15. The Kindle platform is HUGE, and it’s something you can count on. People are always going to read books. Used properly Kindle can give you the financial freedom you are looking for.
