  3. 3. What does a teleporter do? A Teleporter instantly transports objects from one place to another, without travelling through space.
  4. 4. Where did teleporters come from? <ul><li>Charles Fort came up with the name teleporter, after he researching strange appearances and disappearances of objects. </li></ul><ul><li>He thought this new theory might explain some paranormal phenomena. </li></ul>
  5. 5. What can they be used for? <ul><li>Can be used to transport data, or reconstruct an object at its destination. </li></ul><ul><li>It is still unsolved whether it is possible to teleport humans from one place to another. </li></ul>
  6. 6. What effects might it have on individuals or society? <ul><li>Teleportation may make people lazy. Instead of getting up to go and do something, they could just use the teleporter to do it for them. </li></ul><ul><li>They could help older people in completing tasks that they can no longer perform. </li></ul>
  7. 7. When might they become common? <ul><li>They may become common in 50 years or so when scientists finally have the information, to create teleporters without damaging anything when they are used. </li></ul>
  8. 8. History <ul><li>In June 2002, people from the Australian National University achieved teleportation of a laser beam. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>In October 2006 a team at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, conducted teleportation between Light and Matter. </li></ul>History
  10. 10. History <ul><li>We know of the theory of teleportation as we have seen it on movies and in television programmes where people teleport through things such as wormholes or portals. </li></ul>
