  • This journey from inactivity to activity was Wellness, Stability, Capability, Into Work, Sustained Work.We gathered 275 members of the public and voluntary support organisations to re-align their services around this platform to best meet their client’s needs. And set up a pilot
  • The pilot ran for 9 monthsin the city of Sunderland, and the results were amazing.Of the 238 workless people involved in the pilot, 72 reached sustained work. Just as interesting, we could see how people moved along the journey towards work, saving society money every step along the journey.
  • We estimated that the costs to society were reduced long before people were in permanent jobs, reducing benefit costs, increasing taxes and economic output. Our calculations show that savings ran up to £60,000 per year for a carer back in work.
  • We have also learned that the savings for society can be staggering when you create services that help people stay in work. As an example, this pilot itself returned a 240% return on investment.
