  2. 2. Classifications. <ul><li>Phylum: Chordata. </li></ul><ul><li>Class: Aves. </li></ul><ul><li>Order: Falconiformes. </li></ul><ul><li>Family: Aecipitridae. </li></ul><ul><li>Genus: Hatiaeetus . </li></ul>
  3. 3. Feathers <ul><li>like They have 7000 feathers. </li></ul><ul><li>It’s hair and nails made of Keratin. </li></ul><ul><li>Their feathers are rough. </li></ul><ul><li>The feathers at the bottom are white and long. </li></ul><ul><li>The feathers on the head are spiky. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Eyesight <ul><li>Young Bald eagles make mistakes like thinking a plastic bottle is a fish cause their Eyesight isn’t to good. </li></ul><ul><li>They can see left and right while looking forward. </li></ul><ul><li>They have Super eyesight </li></ul>
  5. 5. Talons <ul><li>Special feet owned by big birds. </li></ul><ul><li>Talons are designed to carry things in flight. </li></ul><ul><li>Talons have four muscular toes. </li></ul><ul><li>The talons can carry fairly large fish. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Migrate <ul><li>Migrating is like moving a home to eagles. they move in the winter to a warmer home. </li></ul><ul><li>It is like flying from place to place. </li></ul><ul><li>They stay south from December to March. </li></ul><ul><li>They stay in the north from March to December. </li></ul>

Nests <ul><li>Bald eagles have the record for the biggest nests ever built by bird…Or man!!! </li></ul><ul><li>A pair of eagles work on a nest for 1 to 3 months. </li></ul><ul><li>They reuse nests and build them bigger! </li></ul><ul><li>They can carry on building the nest for years. </li></ul>
