  • 4. What is Webcasting?
    • A webcast is an internet-based broadcast. Essentially, a webcast is like enabling a film production crew to broadcast via internet.
    • Webcasting utilizes the internet as a vehicle to distribute a rich-media production (e.g., any combination of audio, video, presentation slides and chat) to any audience connected to the internet, regardless of location.
    • A webcast can be a live event broadcast, or recorded first and then posted as a view-on-demand event.
    • Live Media’s technology enables enrichment of a production to include pre-recorded video, titles, special effects (e.g., lower thirds, logo bugs, etc.), and the use of green screen technology to support virtual backgrounds.
  • 5. How it Works
    • The experience is captured on location by transmitting the video and the audio feeds to the Live Media equipment for processing. From there, it is encoded to the internet, where end-users retrieve it from a standard home computer or laptop.
    • To view the event, a computer with a standard internet connection is required with sufficient bandwidth (1,500kbps or better), along with an internet browser, the Adobe Flash Player plug-in, and speakers (built-in or external).
    • End-users can also connect a projector and external speakers to their system, to display the event to large groups of remote viewers.
  • 6. Features and Benefits

    • High quality presentation of video, audio, and presentation slides, with two-way chat for live events and commenting for archives
