Published on

On December 11, 2003 Avicenna\'s HP-7.5 Class IV therapeutic laser was the FDA\'s first cleared high power Class IV laser. Since that time, Avicenna has become the market leader in laser therapy patient education, physician training and research & development.

Today, as high power laser therapy is widely recognized as a safe, pain-free and non-invasive medical procedure to accelerate the treatment and rehabilitation of various acute and chronic pain conditions the company\'s Class IV medical device is used in over 100 U.S. medical practitioners\' offices and continues to grow.

LISA-DAWN: Since 2008 I have been using this device in my practice

 17. 17.

The following patients and doctors wrote to Avicenna Laser Technology to share their success stories after treatment with the Avicenna HP-7.5 therapeutic laser

… here are their stories.

Hear the Difference
 18. 18. Testimonial #1

Patient : Lauren T. Diagnosis : Ulnar Nerve/Pain Complaint: Scar Tissue/Pain Following Surgery Outcome: "I had an ulmnar nerve release in 1995. A lot of scare tissue was removed. I was mostly pain free for 12 years. When the scare tissue grew back it was just as painful as right before surgery. I was miserable and tried many different types of therapy sessions - perhaps 40 and the pain still persisted, and with just 4 laser treatments I'm back to full use, pain-free! Thank YOU for creating this machine."

 19. 19. Testimonial #2

Patient : Richard M. Age: 78 Diagnosis: Severe Arthritis of the left hip; Prognosis: Told by doctor that hip replacement was only option; Complaint: “Unbearable” left hip pain that does not decrease with medication. The pain also interferes with walking and wakes him up at night; Outcome: “Within 15 minutes of the first treatment, the pain subsided dramatically. After twenty minutes, the treatment was over and I left the room feeling a great deal relieved. By the fourth visit, I was pleased to discover the pain relief lasted over the weekend into Monday”.

 20. 20. Testimonial #3

Patient : William J. Age : 54 Diagnosis: Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow) Complaint: Extreme pain of the right elbow, unresponsive to rest, ice, and medication over the past 3 months; Outcome: “I had contracted tennis elbow on the right arm. The severity was such that I started playing tennis with my left arm. Five laser treatments were administered over a period of fourteen days. After the first laser treatment there was an immediate and noteworthy reduction in pain accompanied by a moderate gain in functional ability. Thanks to the laser treatments, I was able to play high-level tennis with no pain whatsoever”.

 21. 21. Testimonial #4

Patient : A.W. Age: Senior/Retired Diagnosis: Severely Disabled Outcome: Last Friday, before Christmas, A.W. was hobbling down the hall and turned around and looked me right in the eye and said, “I can't thank you enough for all you’ve done for me this year. Because of you I don’t need a cane by my bedside, I can continue doing the dead lift in the senior Olympics and when I went to Hawaii, this year, I could swim with no discomfort, something I could not do last year”. A.W. is one of the top patent attorney’s in the country, listing among his clients, NIH and Microsoft. Needless to say this stopped me in my tracks and humbled me. This guy, through his own research, brought the Avicenna laser to my attention, and he is thanking ME! Humbled to be sure! 22. 22. Testimonial #5

Patient: Joan C. Age: 74 Diagnosis: Neuropathy - Extreme pain (feet); Source: Letter to Avicenna CEO/Founder Dear Dr. Coren: I spoke to you by phone some months ago when Dr. Dorfman used your laser in the healing of my neuropathy. It has been a miracle. Thank you for this laser. It has changed my life from a semi-invalid to a 74-year-old who is exercising and on the go 10 hours a day. God Bless You, Joan C. Boca Raton, Florida

 23. 23.

Others are SEEING and FEELING the difference…and YOU can too.

But before beginning your journey toward a new and PAIN FREE life…

If you suffer from pain or limited mobility, we encourage you to explore Class IV high power laser treatment options with your doctor to help regain your highest level of function.

 24. 24. Safety Information

Do not apply infrared light to abdominal or lumbosacral points in pregnant females. (Laser is contra-indicated for use over the pregnant uterus.

It may be used on the pregnant woman as an adjunct to the other modalities being used for the treatment of back pain or other complaints).

Do not apply infrared light to the epiphyseal lines in children.

Do not apply infrared light to the thorax or over the pacemaker itself in patients with pacemakers.

Do not apply infrared light over the thyroid gland, ovaries and testicles.

Do not apply infrared light to patients who are taking drugs that have heat or light sensitive contraindications, such as but not limited to certain types of steroids.

Do not apply infrared light over areas recently injected with corticosteroids.

Do not apply infrared light when individual intolerance of the treatment is noted.

Do not shine laser light into eyes, with or without eyewear protection (Class lll and Class IV lasers are potentially harmful to the retina. Safety goggles must be worn by the patient, practitioner, any individuals in the treatment area)

 25. 25. Safety Information

Carcinoma - Do not use laser over any known primary or secondary lesions. (Laser treatment may be given for pain relief during the terminal stages of the illness - we recommend this be done only with the full consent of both patient and primary medical physician/oncologist.

Hemorrhage - It is conceivable that laser-mediated vasodilatation may worsen the hemorrhage.

Immuno-suppressant Drugs: Laser Therapy may increase the function of the immune system.

Treatment Over Sympathetic Ganglia, The Vagus Nerves & Cardiac Region In Patients With Heart Disease: Laser therapy may significantly alter neural function, and is therefore contra-indicated over these regions in patients with heart disease.

 26. 26. Warnings

Avicenna’s Class IV therapeutic laser provides the healthcare provider with a means of reducing pain and restoring function for many patients. While Class IV therapeutic lasers are generally successful in attaining these goals, there are several other factors that can affect your success - these factors should be discussed with your healthcare professional.

Accepted practices in rehabilitative care are important. Failure of the patient to follow instructions involving rehabilitation can compromise the success of Class IV laser therapy. The patient is to be advised of the limitation of activities during the rehabilitation process to avoid exacerbation of the condition.

Excessive activity, trauma and weight gain have been implicated with aggravation of musculoskeletal conditions. Repeated aggravation of musculoskeletal conditions can prolong recovery or make complete recovery difficult. The patient is to be made aware and warned to avoid pain provoking activities between office visits, and to follow the instructions of the treating physician including follow-up evaluations.
