Vermont is located in the New England region of the United States. It is the fifth smallest state in the US.
Many mountains exist on the eastern side of Vermont. These mountains are a part of a long chain of tall elevations called the Appalachian Mountains. In fact, Vermont is named for the high peaks in its state. The Green mountains are a part of the Appalachian chain. ‘Ver’ , means green . Mont, means mountain (French).
The average temperature of Vermont is between 34 and 80 degrees. Winter brings skiers to the mountains of Vermont while a heavy snow falls. The color of the trees in the fall are vibrant colors of red, orange, and yellow. What a sight to see!. In the Spring and Summer, flowers bloom, the red clover is the state`s flower.
TALLEST MOUNTAIN: Mount Mansfield, 4,395 ft. LARGEST LAKE: Lake Champlain, named for Jacques de Champlain. STATE BIRD: Hermit Thrush. STATE TREE: Sugar Maple STATE`S FOOD: Maple Syrup, Cheese.

The trees , lakes, and rivers are the best part! Burlington, a major city, has many attractions such as the Ethan Allen Homestead, learn about a Vermont hero and what it is like to live in the 1780`s.
Although Vermont is small, it still has a lot to give, beautiful wilderness, sparkly rivers, and much more, come to Vermont and you`ll see how fun it can be!
