  • Globalization
  • Globalization is about
-The interdependency of large corporations in different countries – outsourcing, etc.
-The rise of the corporation and decline of the state
    - The increased exposure to other cultures – their language, news, traditions, fashion, media, etc.
  • Remember
  • Media make us more mobile today
  • Networked cars of the future
  • Networked cars of today
  • BMW’s Connected Drive Smartphone/Dashboard integration
  • Networked cars– safety or surveillance?
  • Through mobile media we become glass consumers
  • Online ads are targeted toward our individual tastes
  • Our bodies & the things we carry on them are technologies of surveillance
  • Because we are more mobile, we are easily tracked by large corporations
  • Because we are more mobile, we are easily interrogated by the government
  • We also broadcast our location through social media
