• 45.

WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

2 Corinthians 5:10 NET For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil.

 • 46. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

11 Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we are well known to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

 • 47. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

WE

Not supernatural beings.

Angels will not do the work for us.

The Holy S pirit does not

do it for us.

Nor will the Father or Son

do this work.

Not non-Christians, they would not teach saving Truth.

 • 48. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

Christians must do this work;

God left the spreading of the gospel into our hands.

1 Corinthians 1:21 NET For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.

 • 49. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

Romans 10:14 NET How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them?

 • 50. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, " How timely is the arrival of those who proclaim the good news . "

 • 51. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

16 But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, " Lord, who has believed our report ? " 17 Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ.

 • 52. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

PERSUADE

We cannot force people to accept the truth,

only persuade.

People are free moral agents, thus having the power of choice.

 • 53. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

Romans 12:1 NET Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice — alive, holy, and pleasing to God — which is your reasonable service.

 • 54. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

PEOPLE

We don’t try to persuade God.

He i s s upreme

We must persuade those who are not Christians to become reconciled to God.

 • 55. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

Acts 26:28 NET Agrippa said to Paul, "In such a short time are you persuading me to become a Christian?"

 • 56. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

2 Corinthians 5:18 NET And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

 • 57. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

19 In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people's trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation.

 • 58. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

20 Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea through us. We plead with you on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to God!"

 • 59. WE PERSUADE PEOPLE

21 God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God.

 • 60. Conclusion

There is a child in the road and we see a car is going to hit the child, would we d o n othing (turn our backs to it) or try with all our being to save the child from being hit (even to the

endangering of ourselves)?

 • 61. Conclusion

Do we have the same desire for man’s salvation that Paul had for the Jew’s sal va tion? Romans 9:3 NET For I could wish that I myself were accursed — cut off from Christ — for the sake of my people, my fellow countrymen,

 • 62. Conclusion

Romans 10:1 NET Brothers and sisters, my heart's desire and prayer to God on behalf of my fellow Israelites is for their salvation.

 • 63. Conclusion

The task of persuading people Jesus is The Christ is ours!!

It is up to us to show them the Hope found only in Jesus.

Are we fulfilling our task, doing the job at hand?
