  2. 2. Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service ratherthan a product, whereby shared resources, software, andinformation are provided to computers and other devices asa utility (like the electricity grid) over anetwork (typicallythe Internet).[1]Cloud computing entrusts, typically centalized, services with yourdata, software, and computation on a published applicationprogramming interface (API) over a network. It has a lot ofoverlap with software as a service (SaaS).End users access cloud based applications through a webbrowser or a light weight desktop or mobile appwhile thebusiness software and data are stored on servers at a remotelocation. Cloud application providers strive to give the same orbetter service and performance than if the software programswere installed locally on end-user computers. At the foundation of cloud computing is the broader concept ofinfrastructure convergence (or Converged Infrastructure)and shared services.[2] This type of data centre environmentallows enterprises to get their applications up and running faster, with easier manageability and less maintenance, and enables ITto more rapidly adjust IT resources (such as servers, storage, andnetworking) to meet fluctuating and unpredictable businessdemand.[3][4]
