How to use write n-cite

  1. 1. How to Use Write-N-Cite from RefWorks
  2. 2. Write-N-Cite <ul><li>Log out of RefWorks if you are logged in </li></ul><ul><li>Open a new Word document </li></ul><ul><li>Name it and save it </li></ul><ul><li>Under Add Ins, click on Write-N-Cite </li></ul>

Write-N-Cite <ul><li>Within the Write-N-Cite window, </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Log on to your RefWorks account </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Check the box Always on top </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To display references: under View, click on Folder, then the folder name containing the references you want to cite </li></ul></ul>

Writ-N-Cite <ul><li>In Word start typing a paper </li></ul><ul><li>To insert a reference, have your cursor where you want the reference </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on Cite for one of the references in the Write-N-Cite window </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Don’t be alarmed—it won’t look like a reference yet </li></ul><ul><li>Type another sentence and insert another reference </li></ul>

Write-N-Cite <ul><li>To see what the paper will look like in the end, click on Bibliography in the Write-Cite window </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure the Output Style is the one recommended by your instructor </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the Create Bibliography button </li></ul><ul><li>Voila!! You have a paper with citations inserted properly and in the proper format and a bibliography at the bottom </li></ul>
