  21. 21. Ford S-Max Magna 项目回顾 Sample Project, Case Study Ford Motor Company decided to investigate the feasibility of a plastic fender for the new X-Max model. MAGNA, globally one of the major suppliers to the automotive industry, was requested as a partner to design, develop and investigate the feasibility of the brand new product. The Galaxy fender was designed to be made in sheet-steel. As a FSS (Full Service Supplier) it was up to the supplier to organise and preside the meetings within Ford in either Genk or Köln. Full P&L responsibility for the overall project. Organization, coordination and information exchange between the bumper production plant, the Ford car assembly plant, both in Belgium, the sales and design centre and the Ford HQ in Köln, Germany. As an average, the activities took place 2 or 3 days per week in Köln, Germany. Determination and organization of the testing in specialised laboratories all over Europe. EUR, excl. machinery Budget: Ford Motor Company decided to build a new car model in Genk, Belgium and apply the FSS (Full Service Supplier) system for this build. MAGNA got the contract to supply the bumper systems and decided to build a new factory in Belgium to make the new bumper systems. As a FSS it was up to MAGNA to organise and preside the meetings within Ford in Genk and Köln. A Project Manager had the full P&L responsibility for the overall project, including the entire &quot;from cradle to grave&quot; development and the coordination and information exchange between the bumper production plant, the Ford car assembly plant, in Belgium, the sales and design centre and the Ford HQ in Köln, Germany. They hae a core material in either cold rolled stainless steel or glass fibre wire. Finishing of the products imply stretchbending, endcap injection moulding and marking. Activities included: all coordination between Toyota and the manufacturing plant, planning and budget control, design review, business development, tier1 supplier audit and selection, manage the equipment and tool design and purchase, material tests and selection, various QA activities.
