    2. Chicago Salsa Festival
      • The 2009 Chicago Salsa Festival will offer 4 days of Live music concerts, Over 40 Dance presentations & over 30 dance workshops. Featuring top Salsa Orchestras and world champion dancers at premier Chicago venues, hotels and in Grant Park.
      • Starting at 10 AM, through 2 AM, world renowned Latin dance artists and instructors teach daily dance workshops at the Palmer House Hilton and perform nightly in the dance showcases at the Park West, Cagney’s and Excalibur.
      • The Chicago Salsa Festival and Latin Street Dance provides direct sponsor access to its members and participants. Festival production focuses on promoting multicultural participation, understanding and appreciation of authentic Latin music and dance
      • Live dance concerts are presented each of 4 nights to world class Salsa orchestras and vocalists. 2008 featured musicians included:
      • Angel Melendez, Ismael Miranda, Willy's NYC Salsa Band, New Swing Sextet, Jimmy Bosch & Su Orquesta, Luigi Texidor, Hector Tricoche & Viti Ruiz
      • Live 2008 Dance Showcases included:

    3. Latin Street Dancing
      • Latin Street Dancing (“LSD”) was founded in January 1998 by Lisa “LA Boriqua” and has since established itself as a driving force in Chicago Latin music and dance entertainment. “LSD’s” team of twenty professional dance instructors teaches over ninety classes a week at its headquarters' and satellite performance venues providing public and private lessons in Latin dances such as Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, Cumbia and Tango.
      • In addition to studio instruction, “LSD” operates Latin Street Dance Company, a professional dance troupe that routinely performs major festivals and corporate events throughout Chicago including the Taste of Chicago, Summer Dance, Dance ‘til the Dawn of the New Millennium, the City of Chicago World Music Festival, Chicago Winter Dance and other programs through the Chicago Cultural Center.

      • “ LSD” also sponsors Mosaico Student Dance Company as a Latin Street Dancing student-based dance company that concentrates in traditional and artistic styles of Latin "Street" Dancing or Latin Nightclub style dancing.  
      • The Chicago Salsa Festival producers, Lisa “LA” Boriqua with Husband Andres Meneses have during 14 years taught over 50,000 students how to dance. In 2001, Lisa was honored by a Certificate of Appreciation by Chicago’s Mayor Richard M. Daley for her exceptional contribution to dance as an art form…
      • In 2004 Andres Meneses was nominated for a Grammy for his production "Angel Melendez & The 911 Mambo Orchestra" for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album.

      • Since its inception, after 3 years, Salsa Festival attendance has soared to 5,100 attendees in 2008.
      • Race: 5% Asian, 19% Black/Afro-Caribbean, 76% White(37% Hispanic, 11% Latin), of which 50% are bilingual.
      • Age range: 19% aged 18-25, 35% aged 26-34, 32% aged 35-49, 10% are 50+, and 4% under 18.
      • Incomes are 9% 100K+, 8% 75-100K, 21% 50-75K, 16% 40-50K, 18% 30-40K, 15% 20-30K and 14% less that 20K.
      • 47% College degree, 20% Masters, 6% Doctorate, 27% High School.
      • Show attendance is from across the U.S./ Puerto Rico and foreign countries such as Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, England, Italy. 60% from Chicago.
    7. MARKETING
      • As a vertically integrated Latin music, dance production and dance instruction organization, “LSD” effectively utilizes its vast network, leveraged media buys, and marketing expertise at: Carnivale, Cuatro, Cubby Bear, Alhambra Palace, Dragonfly, Excalibur, Old Town School of Folk Music and Nacional 27, among others.
      • “ LSD” promotes extensively through e-mail- 23,000 weekly(1,196,000-annual!), website-342, 896 hits, (96,690 unique visitors) and text-messaging campaigns-8,000. Local advertising includes CTA Car and Station Cards, Print, Digital Out-of-Home and Event Signage, Facebook and Myspace Social Marketing to 3,000 group members and Latin Street Friends and Print. Websites such as Salsapower.com, ExcaliburChicago.com, Ehispanics.com, provide additional marketing support. Additional promotion results from local Television networks Latination & American Latino TV.
      • Print media coverage includes The Chicago Reader's "A List“
      • Cross-promotion occurs through program advertising at the April Montreal Salsa Convention and May Los Angeles Salsa Congress-attendance 15,000 each. Additionally, 500 Posters, 5,000 Program books, 40,000 flyers advertising the Chicago Salsa Festival were distributed personally and locally in 2008.
      • Daily dance instruction and public performances consistently preview The Salsa Festival at venues throughout Chicago generating strong interest resulting in repeat and increased event attendance.

      • The Chicago Salsa Festival has been featured in all major Chicago publications "Summer Festival guides” including The Reader & Time Out Chicago. Your brand team can invest in the rights to this leveraged media and expanded audiences.
      • The Chicago Salsa Festival and Latin Street Dancing has been featured on CBS, NBC, ABC, WGN, CLTV, WTTW, Telemundo and Univision newscasts, magazines, and radio.
