  3. 3. Technology made everyone’s life easier.<br />In this work some children’s diseases are briefly characterized and some examples of how ICT can be used to improved disabled children’s life are given.<br />
  4. 4. DownSyndrome<br />happenswhenthere are three copies of a chromosome.<br />Pictures, sound effects, animations…and music can make for a captivating experience.<br />
  5. 5. Cerebral Palsy<br />Is a non progressive neuromuscular disorder.<br />Peoplemustadjustthecomputercontrolpanelsandsettings.<br />
  6. 6. SpinaBifida<br />Iscausedbytheincompleteclosingoftheembryonic neural tube . <br />MAS is a flexible software platformdesigned to helppeoplewithdisabilities. <br />
  7. 7. Autism<br />Is a disorderof neural development.<br />Computersandother ICT devicessuch as electroniccommunicationaids can beused to supportchildrenwhohavecommunicationdifficulties. <br />
  8. 8. Hyperactivity<br />Can bedescribed as a physicalstateinwhich a personisabnormallyandeasilyexcitable.<br />Computershaveinfinitepatience, provideprivacy, promotediscoverylearningandhelpthemdevelopproblem- solvingskills, can excite andmotivatepupils…<br />
  9. 9. Hearingimpairment<br />Ithappenswhentheability to detectcertainfrequenciesofsoundiscompletelyorpartiallyimpaired.<br />ICT can beextremelyuseful as itis a strongly visual medium, and can beusedwithoutbeing too dependentonthespokenword…<br />
  10. 10. Visual impairment<br />Isvisionlossor a limitationof visual capability.<br />Screenmagnification, screennavigationutilitiesandspeech output are just a fewoftheutilitiesavailable.<br />
  11. 11. Intellectualgiftedness<br />Isanintellectualabilitysignificantlyhigherthanaverage.<br />They can display theirtalentsatthehighestlevelofwhichthey are capable, byusing ICT to acess a wider range oflearningmaterialsandexperiences.<br />
