  • Table Of Contents – Main Good afternoon; I want to take a minute to welcome you, and to thank Bob Kirke and the generosity of the Canadian Apparel foundation for hosting this webinar My name is Allan Diamond, and I am the co-founder of Timereaction. I have over 25 years experience in the apparel industry as a private label manufacturer, with the past 10 years focused on supplying many of the leading US Lifestyle brands. In the competitive global economy, it became second nature to work with customers in the US, factories in the Beauce and Mexico, fabric from the US, China and India, and trims from many the same locations. The challenge we faced on a daily basis was keeping track of where everything was, as any mis-step had potential critical impact.Important information is often inefficiently communicated between key players by using a limited toolbox of email and spreadsheets.

As a private label major supplier to many of the major US lifestyle brands, sales would receive a tech pack via email that they would forward to design, who in turn forward it to the factory. They would preoduce the sample and have it sent to the client, who would start the process all over again.When we finally ended up with an order, it was required of us to send in a weekly spreadsheet. We would gather around the whiteboard, spreadsheet in hand to discuss the WIP, and then scurry off to our desks to call and email contractors, fabric and trim suppliers, and then get all this information onto one sheet to send to the client. This wasted about a day and a half.
