The document outlines the lesson plan for a 9th grade class on the topic of the environment. The goals of the lesson are to teach students to generalize information, express opinions on environmental issues, deepen their ecological knowledge, and develop environmental awareness. The lesson plan includes an introductory activity to get students engaged, a main part where students participate in a mock press conference as environmental journalists and representatives, and a concluding discussion on protecting nature. Students are assessed on their preparation and knowledge.

Хід уроку
I. The introductory part of the lesson.
T. Hello , children. Glad to see you. Tell me please ?How are you today on such a dull winter
day?

T. I’m glad to heart that, but I know when the weather is dull, a lot of people feel depressed.
When I am in a bad mood I usually listen to the music or write poems. Here is one of them.
I want all the people to do all the best
I went to the garden
It was so dark
With bare branches
And tears in eyes.
I want all the people
To do all the best.
To help our nature
To be in good health.
II. The basic part of the lesson
Dear pupils! We live on the planet- the Earth. The Earth is our home and we must
save and protect it. We have to attitude to our planet very carefully and seriously.
We are to love our planet and take care of it.
(a song “Sweet people”)
So the topic of our lesson is “What is our Environment like”
The motto:
“Look deep into nature, and then
2. you will understand
everything better”
Albert Einstein.
1. I propose you to take part in a conference and imagine yourself as journalists
and representatives of one of the most known international ecological organization
which is called ``Green peace`` You are the journalists. You are the
representatives of the organization.
Green peace
Hi, we are the representatives of one of the most known international ecological
organizations, which is called “Green Peace”. Our organization was founded in
1970 for protecting the ecology of our planet. The aim of its creation is in the
organization’s name. And really, the people, who join the “Green Peace”, seek to
keep the world clean, the environment green, to keep life on the Earth. Already
after a year of its establishment the organization was recognized by the world and
after 25 years its branches were opened in more than 50 countries.
Journalist’s question:
1.What is your organization fighting for nowadays?
G.p. During many years the organization “Green Peace” is fighting for protection
of all the geographical spheres of the Earth.

We’ll tell you about ACID RAIN.
P1.When power plants burn coal to make electricity, and when cars burn gasoline,
invisible gases are released into the air. Some of these gases can mix with rain and
snow and make it acidic, like lemon juice or vinegar.
P2. What can happen? Sometimes the gases get into rain and clouds, where they
get mixed in with rain or snow. This is called acid rain.
P1. Acid rain is extremely harmful to plants, river and lakes, and the creatures that
live in them. In some places it is killing forests. And it pollutes the water that
animals and people needs to drink.
P2. What is our mission?
P1. Its very important for us to stop making acid rain. One good way is to drive our
cars less. Another good way is to save energy. The less energy we use, the less fuel
those power plants have to burn. Industrial countries should control their level of
pollution.
II group
My problem is WATER POLLUTION.
The planet Earth is mostly water. Oceans cover the biggest part of it- there are
lakes, rivers, streams and even water underground. All life on Earth depends on
this water. It is precious. But we are not doing a good job of keeping water clean.
In many places the water has become polluted. Oceans, seas, rivers and lakes are
polluted. We need to save our water, to keep it clean and healthy so people, plants
and animals will always have come to drink. And so fish and other creatures will
have a place to live.
3. Journalist’s question:
Are trees in danger?
III group
TREES IN DANGER
Millions of years before there were trees on the Earth. But today trees are in
serious danger. The trees die.
But what is killing the trees? Nobody knows exactly, but its probably air pollution
or acid rain.
In other parts of the world trees are threatened by people, not by pollution.
Something must be done. Trees are important because they provide a home for
many plants and animals. They protect the flowers which grow on the forest floor.
They provide food. They protect the soil from the wind and the rain. Most
important of all the forests are the lungs of the planet, produce the oxygen which
we breath.
Journalist’s question:
It is known that more that one hundred kinds of animals had disappeared from the
Earth’s face. Is the protection of animal world one of the main spheres of your
activity?
IV group
DISAPPEARING ANIMALS
Every day there are more and more people living on the Earth.
All these people need room to live. So, they move into places that are already
homes for plants and animals. Forests are cut down, and wild areas are filled with
houses and stores
We enjoy pictures and stories about the dinosaurs who lived on the Earth many
millions of years ago. They are extinct now. That could happen to elephants,
zebras, red- wood trees, fogs, butterflies, robins or goldfish or other animals if we
are not careful. Keep the Earth green and healthy and full of millions of wonderful
creatures.
Journalist’s question:
What can you tell about the nuclear accident at Chernobyl?
The nuclear accident at Chernobyl, which took place on April 26, 1986, has
seriously aggravated the ecological situation in the world. That catastrophe can be
considered as the largest disaster of the 2Oth century. As the result of the accident
18% of territories of our republic were contaminated by radioactive elements. The
agriculture of our country suffered great losses. More than 20% of the population
has also suffered .A death rate among children has increased considerably
.Everyone understands that this catastrophe is a threat to health of our nation the
results will be shown on the future generations.
Journalist`s question:
What ecological problems are there in v. Chornozemne?
