  • Yeah, I liked the slideshow as well. Being honest and providing AMAZING content work wonders. I know it because it's what I get as a blog owner, I'll publish that blog post most likely.

  • If a guest blogger can provide almost publication ready posts which actually SAY something and that don't require hours of editing they can get published quickly and will be very welcome on many domains.

If they send a poorly written article with Word formatting that has to be painstakingly removed manually or they don't know what a header tag is so they bold (not too bad) or underline sub-titles (REALLY BAD - NEVER DO THIS because it breaks RSS feeds, but many bloggers do not know that so you will hurt their traffic badly) or use images that are way too large (in kbs not just physical size) you are vastly less likely to get published.

If you can write substantive content - even if it needs some grammar corrections or spelling corrected - some of us don't mind fixing quick issues.

If you ramble and repeat yourself and say little of value (or you made some good points but we have to figure out how to remove all the repetitive non-necessary words) that takes much more time and is far worse for the editor than your not knowing which your / you're or their / they're / there to use. (Which by the way you can look up online.)

I have a couple of posts that explain why I would LOVE to publish more guest posts and if a blogger is willing to learn how to make them ready to publish and need less editing time I can recommend them to other bloggers. We would all publish more guest posts for bloggers serious enough to learn to send more complete posts that are ready to go. If we had time to spend 3+ hours editing your content we would have time to write it ourselves.

  • 5 Efficient ways for Better Guest Blogging
  • When executed correctly, guest posting can be agreat way to promote your own business orproduct to loyal readers of other websites that arerelated to your niche and at the same time, increaseyour author rank and organic visibility!
  • “I’ve just started trying to get guest posts live and no-one’s seem to get back to me?”Since a ton of people are trying to guest post, the probability of a getting a post live is much lesser than it was, in previous years. If you’re really struggling to get responses, read on…
  • 1. Make it personalOn an average day a BlogOwner receives anywherebetween 5-20 guest postrequests, so to even standa chance at getting yourinitial pitch read, you’llreally have to stand outfrom the crowd.
  • “You had me at hello”When a guest post enquiry starts with “Dear/ Hey admin / HiClient/ Dear Ms. Bruce [No Way]” You’ve already lost yourshot, Try just “Hi Sarah” It is Personal & friendly.
  • Make that extra effort to personalize youroutreach and you’ll stand a chance of gettingyour guest post reviewed.
  • 2.Good Grammar & SpellingWhen you’re trying to convince a blog owner to publish yourcontent on his/her blog and your initial outreach e-mailcontains grammar and spelling errors, don’t expect to receivea positive response. “Check your existing outreach e-mails”
  • We’ve all made this mistake before. First impression is always the best impression. I now triple check any outreach e-mail before hittingsubmit just to make sure any mistakes have been taken care of.
  • 3. Keep trying. How many times have you submitted an initial outreach e-mail and left it at that?
  • 3. Keep trying. How many times have you submitted an initial outreach e-mail and left it at that? I try to make sure I follow up any outreach attempt at least 3 times. Webmasters are busy and it’s possible that you caught them at the wrong time.
  • Try to wait a week beforechasing up any enquiries.Chase up your initial enquirybut don’t chase up too manytimes.Or You might get thereputation of a Spammer!
  • 4. Flattery is food for the Fools Guest Blogger - “Hi, My name is X and I am a huge fan of your blog.

  • This doesn’t work unless it’s legitimate & Honest. If you want to go down this route of outreach, then Isuggest you read up on what the site really has tooffer, submit a few comments, try to get in touch with thewebmaster via twitter or G+ before claiming that you’vebeen a reader for the past few years
