• JoelComm is the author of “Click Here to Order,” “Google AdSense,” and of course Twitter Power.
• -Ken Burge is CEO of Direct Response Offers and of Info media inc.- He has worked with Microsoft (reason for image)
• -Twitter was founded in 2006 by Evan Wiliams (top center), Jack Dorsey (far left), and Biz Stone (far right).“a few of us were thinking about what interesting ways we can merge SMS (reason for the phone image) to the web. Dorsey came up with the idea if you were to just look at the status field of an instant message like AIM with a really small version of what people are doing and make it simple to say here’s what I’m doing.
• -username must be the first thing y enter, but it should be thought of most deeply- Ex: my username is @Leh1185, which is easy to remember and is used for other sites (see last slide for contact info)
• Publishing is about participation People participate creating conversationsConversations create communitiesConversation is flowing in both directions“Twitter is a two way communication tool”Described in the other chart, social media is defined in three various ways such as “social media is a publishing revolution because anyone can launch a website, blog, create videos, and write articles, content created by its audience (you & me), exchange of content within a community is like a chat in a restaurant
• Follow people who follow you Include opinions, announcements, conversationsJoin the conversationTweet your blogFollow style rulesRetweetLittle details that help you stand outLooking at your timeline will tell you which tweet sequences you’ve used in the past to build up that link tweet
• Companies’ tweets need to be: -human -friendly -trustworthy -subtle-Customers are valuable because they identify problems and are your referrals- Therefore companies can run contests and give sneak peaks of their future products before its launched
• -TwitterRank works similar to Google Rank which is helpful to monitor how well you’re managing to motivate discussions in comparison to other Twitter users -Tweetdeck application automatically notifies you of a new tweet so that you are able to respond in seconds since time is important in the “twitterverse.”-Twitterfeed is a via RSS blog feed that you can link so that your followers can read your blogs as soon as you post your blog
• -Social media requires users to understand in detail how to use social media sites, this book gives easy steps to improve your use of Twitter- Every person needs to read this book because Twitter is being used not just by Public relation students, but prestigious companies, marketing & social media agencies, and to be informed on current events in your field.
• I’m a social media junkie, Public Relations Georgia Southern University student, avid social media learner
