This kind ofpoetry is a direct    record of    personal experience and feelings of the      poet.

Kinds of Lyrical Poetry:           • Lyrics           •Sonnets           •Odes           •Elegy
Lyrics are short   poems on anysubject that record  an outburst offeeling inspired by    something    immediate
• Lyrics don’t have  a specific  structure• They are the  spontaneity of  the emotion  expressed
Sonnets :   are a type oflyrical poetry but are written in a  specific form
The sonnet is 14 lines of iambicpentameter thatdiscuss one idea
Iambic pentameter: a line of verse that  has five syllables unstressed syllable    followed by a  stressed syllable
