  • HOW TO CREATE A COMPELLING TAGLINE
    What is a tagline?
    • A statement in a few words used in conjunction with an organisations’ name or logo to help bring the organisations’ brand to mind when someone needs a related product or service.
    • It should advertise truthfully by delivering a clear and powerful brand message to the intended audience in seven words or less (three to four words being ideal).
    • A compelling tagline should be able to communicate something about who you are and what makes your organisation different.
    • It should be a summary of your marketing message or value proposition and able to be used a wrap up statement in your 30 second organisational elevator speech.
    • Successful taglines can be used for various lengths of time. Long term as part of a complete organisational branding strategy or short term in relation to a to a new product and/or service launch or a specific advertising campaign.
    • Listed as one of the three characteristics of a good strategy (1. Focus; 2. Divergence ; and 3. Compelling tagline) in the best selling book titled Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne, taglines are used by many of the best global organisations.
