  1. 1. From concept to reality, it is our goal to create a logical and functional space that contributes to the quality of life by enhancing the built environment with beauty, and sustainability. 2. 2. the difference. EXPERIENCE As an established firm in Iowa, we have enjoyed the privilege of serving many clients over many years on many varied projects. Most of our current projects are from referrals from past clients. In 2007, we were the recipient of the VP Hall of Fame Church Building Division for The Bridge in Johnston, IA. We have completed several activity centers for communities, colleges, and churches. Our staff’s varied backgrounds and experience provide helpful knowledge. One staff member’s family owned a restaurant for over 10 years - he understands kitchen design needs and serving large crowds. Everyone is under the leadership of Dave Laugerman, our principal, who personally oversees and designs each project. LISTENING No matter how many churches have been completed by our firm each congregation’s needs are different. We enjoy getting to know our clients by meeting with them several times throughout the concept design process and the creation of contruction documents. Each new building, addition, or renovation is designed uniquely to meet the specific needs of the client’s community and ministry. ATTENTION TO DETAIL Details matter. We include many details with each project. We are willing to walk through the entire process with each client - offering suggestions and presenting options from the exterior finish to the interior hardware.

  17. 17. the difference. “To churches looking to hire Dave Laugerman: It is with great confidence and joy that I write this letter to share with you our experience as we have been working with Dave Laugerman as architect on our church ministry expansion project. At the first meeting between Dave and our Building Design Committee, he asked us to describe our individual ministry involvement, and our dreams for our church ministry. He had each person on the committee share his individual dreams. Dave made very few comments, but asked a lot of questions. When he came back to us, his initial design concept captured 90% of our dreams. Since then, we have met with him repeatedly to develop and adjust the design concepts.... In each of the many adjustments we have had to make, we have found Dave to be outstandingly patient and gracious with us. By careful listening, asking questions, and making appropriate corrective comments, he has greatly helped us stay on task. Throughout all of this time, his goal has been to honor God and design a facility that correctly reflects the goals and details of our church ministry plan. I would wholeheartedly and without reservation encourage you to have Dave come and visit with you as you begin the investigation process on your own facility development. Please feel more than free to contact me, and I will be glad to answer any specific questions you might have.” Pastor Richard Dayton Urbandale Baptist Church, urbandalebaptistchurch@juno.com, (515) 276-0761 “Dave Laugerman has been the architect on five projects for Southwestern Community Collge. He has been involved from discussion to completion and each project was completed on time and met all of our expectations. Dave has the ability to listen and then transfer the thoughts and ideas into drawings while keeping the budget in mind at all times. I would strongly recommend Laugerman+Associates, Inc. for any project.” Tom Lesan Vice President of Economic Development Southwestern Community College Laugerman+Associates, Inc. | 1801 INDUSTRIAL CIRCLE, WEST DES MOINES, IA 50265 | (515) 222-5644 Anderson-Erickson Dairy
  18. 18. the difference. “I am writing to recommend David L. Laugerman as an architect to be used for design and construction of church buildings. David Laugerman was the architect of our superbly designed and constructed 74,000 sq. ft. facility. I heartily recommend him. Some of my favorite features are the acoustics and warm aesthetics of the versatile 1,100 seat auditorium (that we use for worship, concerts, dinners, etc.), the spacious atrium (traditionally called a foyer), and the overall combination of function and aesthics throughout the building, not to mention the contemporary exterior appearance. We are very pleased with the completion of our first phase (the master plan has two more phases). David understands the kind of ministry of churches (as he has been an active member of our church for nearly ten years). Furthermore, he demonstrated to us his gift of taking our core values and ministry ideas and developing a facility that is “wrapped around them” (we were a church planted eighteen years ago that grew to 800 people before moving into this, our first, building). This was important to us as we did not want a building that changed the church we already were. Another strong attribute David brings is a passion and zeal for maximizing the resources of a church by getting the most design and function while staying within the constraints of budget available for the entire buidling project. He delivers what you want! From the purchase of our land to the completion of the building was a long process for our church (Facilities Planning Group was actively planning for 8 years-land acquisition, hearing ministry plans, initial design by another architect, consideration of doing the project design/build, and finally deciding to let the project out for bid). We are very pleased with the results and the design David presented to us and then saw through fruition. Again, I would heartily recommend David Laugerman for any building program. I can be reached at (515) 226-9973 or john.glad@vefc.com if you would like to discuss this any further.” Pastor John G.
