  2. 2. So, what exactly IS Dubstep? <br />Dubstep originated in south London, England. Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals”<br />Dubsetp is produced using sequencers, synthesizers, turntables, samplers, drum machines and computers. <br />
  3. 3. More on dubstep…<br />Like Techno and House music, dubstep is another genre of electronic dance music. The underlying sound is extremely similar to House music, but dubstep artists feature more clipped samples and occasional vocals, while House music is typically only instrumentals.<br />Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music which includes bass drops, which is when the percussion pauses and resumes with a greater intensity, and wobble bass.<br /> The genre's feel is typically dark; tracks frequently use a minor key and can feature dissonant harmonies such as the tri-tone interval within a riff. Other features often found are the use of samples of other songs, a propulsive, sparse rhythm,and an almost omnipresent sub-bass.<br />

  7. 7. The name "deadmau5" originated when Zimmerman found a dead mouse in his computer while he was replacing his video card. He discussed this with chat room users and became known as "that dead mouse guy." His nickname "Dead Mouse" was too long for the IRC character limit, and was then shortened to deadmau5.
