  • LSU Eunice: UndergraduateResearch Summer Institute (URSI)URSI is a 17 year old program at LSU designed to provide students withmeaningful, investigative research experiences with faculty.Undergraduate researches experience gains in skills such as use ofprimary literature, formulating research hypotheses, interpreting dataand communicating the results of their research.They experience personal gains in independence and self-confidence.They pursue graduate education at higher rates than other student groups.In short they develop an excitement for intellectual activity. Theyappreciate that learning is not inert; it’s dynamic and consists of adialogue, i.e., an exchange of information, data and views about somequestion/problem with others.
