The film became regarded as an influential masterpiece of cinema, reaching second
on ‘RottenTomatoes’ most viewed horror film of all time.
The production company behind ‘Nosferatu’ was ‘Prana film’- a short lived German
film studio that declared bankruptcy to avoid copyright infringements by Bram
Stoker’s wife.
2. This is a 1920 German silent horror film about an insane hypnotist
who uses a sleepwalker to commit murders.
Some say Dr Caligari represents the German war government, and
Cesare (the sleepwalker) is symbolic of the common man
conditioned to kill like soldiers.
The visual style of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari is dark, twisted and

scale that create a chaotic appearance.
Film critic Roger Edbert described it as "a jagged landscape of sharp
